I decided to give OA a chance in August of 2009. I tried and tried to get abstinent, but couldn't string together more than 3 days w/out binging at night.
Finally 105 days ago I tried one last time. I have been abstinent w/out a binge now for over 100 days!
I am also doing something different this time around, I am working the steps as laid out in the Big Book of Alcoholic's Anonymous.
I am starting to live the words in the big book.
My serenity is in direct proportion to my acceptance today.
That's awesome! I noticed you've lost 53 lb... was that a result of your 105 days without bingeing? That would be quite impressive! Have you been counting calories or doing any specific diet or exercise plan to lose the weight, or is it just the abstinence?
I'm wondering this because so far I've been binge-free for about six weeks and I've barely lost any weight .
Sonia, I wish I could say I lost it all this time around....but no.... not quite. This time around I started at 231, so I have lost about 19.5 in a little over 3 months.
Are you working out at all and how about your meals, are they balanced? Mine are very balanced, with carb, protein, and lots of veggies w/ every meal.
One other time I went binge free for a whole month and lost none. So it does make a difference what you are eating.
