Hi - I have been diagnosed with an eating disorder...Binge Eating and Compulsive Over Eating...Spent 4 months in an IOP ( intensive outpatient program ) at an eating disorder facility.
I have just started WW today - for the 2nd time this year....here's hoping I can use what I have learned.... stick to my diet....and control my eating....
Need support...and would be happy to give support!

Welcome! I find that coming on to this site has helped me. It gives me a place to vent or chime in. I'm fairly new to taking the weight loss thing seriously, but in the end the most important thing I'm learning is perserverance. Don't give up. If you fall off one day just pick yourself up and work towards it the next day. Easier said than done. :-) But I'm sure you'll figure it out this time. Good Luck!

You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!"

Sherry88 - welcome and congratulations for seeking the outpatient help. Venting here is good because holding feelings in tends to lead us to "eat our feelings". What sorts of aftercare suggestions and recommendations were made to you after you completed your program? WW is a great program for accountability and learning portion size. How is it going for you?

Tommy - Thanks for your reply. Actually I still attendy weekly therapy as part of my after care. The biggest and best suggestions have been - journaling, keeping food logs and determining if I am physically or emotionally hungry. Also - trigger foods....example - pasta is one of my trigger foods. I actually feel more hungry after I eat it ...and then tend to binge....I would be willing to share or discuss with anyone interested.
Getting weighed in tomorrow....can't say that I didn't have my moments this first week...

Good luck Sherry!

I REALLY understand the fight against trigger foods! A few months ago I picked up a book that encouraged readers to walk around the house to find the "unsafe foods" - those that trigger us to overeat, and to just get rid of them. I tried. Easier said than done, especially when other members of your family REALLY like those foods too.

This advice did give me some perspective on being aware of how I react to certain foods. I also learned that I am sensative to wheat gluten. This will always trigger me to eat much more than I should.

I wish you the best on your journey ahead!
