Day 2 was another success for me I'm happy to say. 5.6lbs down in 2 days, but still way up
Getting very anxious about the weekend coming up though. It's usually then that I seem to lose my mind and start binging, so I'm already scared as I REALLY need to be able to prove to myself I can get through it and start to get my weight to go down a little each week rather than up.

I think I will try joining if y'all don't mind.

I am having issues transitioning to maintenance. I just (re-reached) goal weight about a week ago. Although I haven't had any true binges, a few times I've had some food encounters that were going downhill quickly before I called a halt to it. The problem seems to be that I feel I should be able to eat some foods that used to be off-plan, then (after eating that) I start thinking I am entitled to a treat for reaching goal weight, and I am reaching for whatever I have in the pantry... luckily, so far I have been able to ask myself "What the heck are you doing???" after just a few bites.

Anyway, the timing is great for me (birthday on the 23rd). Hopefully, I can use this challenge to try to get my mind into a better maintenance mindset.

Good luck everyone!

Loving Me - what part of the weekend is the hardest for you and are there any strategies you will use this weekend, since its also right at the 3/4 day mark. Two challenges together, ick!

Made it through Day 3 which also brought TOM which was early, but explains why I've felt so awful all week.
Disappointed this morning that the scale hasn't gone down any further, but am just telling myself that I just have to keep going and concentrate on not binging, and the weight will come off when it's ready.
Xty - The whole weekend is really hard I'm afraid. DH is home from work usually, DD is home from school, my routine is totally different. They eat more and differently to me and I have to admit to feeling like a spoilt child a lot of the time when they're having treats and I have to refrain. Then if I have something that I hadn't planned, say a different lunch, that automatically seems to flick a switch in my brain saying "oh, you've gone off plan now, you might as well just enjoy the rest of the day" and so it goes... But one day seems to turn into 3 everytime lately, and then come Mon-Tue the next week I am feeling dreadful, bloated, sick, very depressed and sad...
So my strategy for this weekend is actually one day at a time. I'm accepting that I will eat more than I do during the week and different things, but that doesn't mean I have to binge, and if I can just avoid binging then surely when I get back to my usual routine next week the weight will start to come down again, and, if not, at least I won't have the usual beginning of the week disgust of myself and my actions of the last few days.

Day 1 a success! I went to the store to get milk and I thought oh I'm stressed out for my job interview tomorrow I think I'll make nachos. And of course that means the whole bag of chips...but then I realized what I would do to myself and I bought the milk and my fave sugarless gum and left the store.

So far so good for me. Maybe I ate a little extra chili for dinner last night (got home late), but nothing like a binge.

Loving me, Congrats on making it despite TOM! I seem to have similar problems as I try to transition to maintenance. If I eat foods that haven't been part of my usual eating plan, I am in big danger. You're right -- it's like a switch is flipped. I'm afraid I don't really have a plan, because I do want to broaden the scope of my foods. I guess I'll just have to take it very slow.

Good job Haley, and good luck with the weekend, xty!

Please send any thoughts, prayers, wishes for sanity and strength my way....needing all the help I can get!

Still binge free (and down a few lbs thanks to that), but I was super close to ordering pizza and getting ice cream last night. Tried to consider a lesser pb and apple binge too. Took a sedative, watched a movie and went to sleep instead.

Feel sane this am but fear tonight will be a repeat. Tomorrow is a holiday for me, but I'm working all weekend in prep for a work offsite Tues-Wed all day. Check in to resort Mon pm, and though I'll have little control of food it's at a healthy resort in Napa so I'm hopeful for light options.

So I'm a bit ashamed to say I went out and bought ice cream last night... and in 24 hours, I ate almost the whole box. :/ Darn chocolate moose tracks. Oh well. All I can do is pick myself up and dust myself off!!!

Im afraid to say that Saturday was a very not great day for me. I guess I could claim that I avoided an outright binge, but only because I had enough safe-guards in place. Let's just say that some foods were eaten.

Anyway, the good news is that I was back on track like a champ yesterday and I hope I've learned my lesson (for the thousandth time) to steer clear of carby trigger foods.

Sending a packet of willpower dust your way, xty!

Get right back on track, Martina! If we just keep getting back up, we succeed!

Hey I know I'm late, but can I join?? I had a hard time this weekend, I think I had built up a ton of stress through the week and my eating fell apart for Saturday and Sunday. But I like the idea that maybe after 21 days, it'll get easier. It's like a light at the end of the tunnel! :-) so, here goes nothing. I'm going to tell my DH about the 21 days too... I'll need all the help I can get! Let's do this!!

I'd love to join late!

I had a really bad day today... I was at 1200 calories at about 6PM then my team lost so I went to Taco Bell and got 4 items. Not sure how many calories that put me at. But I don't even want to think about it!

It seems that the only time I binge is when I'm by myself and it's late at night! What do you do to counteract your thoughts?!

Yesterday I made the best of a bad situation. On plan for lunch and dinner, ended up getting stuck eating out due to circumstances beyond my control. But I made the best of it-- we were at a pub with pizza and burgers, etc. DH ordered a plate of nachos -- I did eat the guac (which he doesn't like) and I'll admit I had a couple chips. I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich, which I was delighted to see on the menu, and passed up the fries an o-rings (which I *love*) as the side in favor of cole slaw (which was more vinegar than mayo) and I skipped the bread. This was as close to plan as I could manage, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. Weighed in this AM ar 129.6, which is higher than I want, but below my redline of 130.

Back to routine today, so hoping there will be fewer hurdles.

Welcome Danzing and Nuerons! Good habits can be formed in 21 days, no matter when you start!

Night time munchies can be a real problem. I try to go to bed early. If it's too early, I drink a lot of decaf but that doesn't always work.
