Hi Everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Joanna and this is my second attempt with Atkins. My first attempt was sucessful. I started at 195 and dropped 25 pounds. Unfortunatley, I didn't keep up with my success and gained 10 lbs. So, this where I am at today, 180. Not very thrilled about it, my goal is 150. I think I can do it this time. If you all have advise on mini-goals I'd love the feedback.

Thanks!
Joanna

Red face Welcome!!

Joanna!

You've come to a great place for advice, support & encouragement!!

Atkins is a great plan that works when done correctly. The best advice I can give you is any eating plan, be it Atkins or any other, is not a temporary fix. It MUST be a complete lifestyle change if you plan on keeping the weight off.

You CAN do this!!!

All the best to you!

Kim

Welcome Joanna
I started with about the same stats.
SInce April Ihave lost 40 pounds (I took a month off on vacation didn't lose but didn't gain either)
I try to work in 5 lb increments. so I would shoot for 174 and then 169 etc. It just seems to help if you can get past that 5 pound mark it seems (at least for me) that 175 is closer to 180 but 174 on the other hand is already nearing 170 and the 160's. It seems like it moves faster for me that way.
If that makes any sense. and as much as I hate to say this the water and exercise make all the difference. There is a daily exercise post you may want to join in on and just post what you did for that day. Doesn't have to be anything major. I used to do 30-45 min. on the tredmill eveyday but since taking that month off I'm having a hard time getting going again. So now I'm doing about 45 minutes every other day. But anything is better than nothing.
Also we have a daily chat where you cn pickup some helpful hints and advice or an occasional kick in the butt!
good luck and keep us posted

Joanne

I'm doing the Atkins for a month now and I'm thrilled with the results. I was first on the SB but after adding in carbs I saw my weight going up up & up. My doctor told me that I was carb sensitive and should try the Atkins. WALLA I'm happy again. He told me that hes on the Atkins so I have a doctor & this thread to give me support and motovation.
