Default Does it work?

I have been on a life long cycle of diets.
I am tired. I came here from soul cysters.
Does it really work? I have read the book; I just am tired of diets.
I need to lose weight, no more playing games for me.

Hi adeela, I moved over from soul cysters too. You will find all the inspiration you need here. Yes atkins does work, if you follow it correctly. For 10 years I was trying to lose weight, nothing worked (I couldnt stick to them), but lo carb makes me feel great. I have heaps more energy, I dont crave junk food all the time and Im losing weight and keeping it off. If you have PCOS with IR then this is a great way to keep your insulin levels at a even keel. Im not nearly as informed as others n this board but I do have PCOS and I know this works great for me. Give it a try you have nothing to lose.

It does work. You dont feel tired and the weight does melt off, BUT as long as you follow the diet, which is simple.

it sounds like the little switch in your head has clicked and you're ready to get down and dirty with your fat. If you stick to the plan and stay with it then yes, it works.....but like the book says, this is a life change. You don't just 'go off atkins' and the weight stays off. I've got pcos too and lurk at soulcysters Welcome aboard!!

Holy smokes Kim & Lacy! You look fabulous!

I have been on it since March 25, 2006 and I have lost 28lbs so far. Yes I do believe it works too! Stick with it, it will happen. (note I have tried so many diets in the past it is easier to say what I haven't tried) --- I wish I would have found & tried this diet sooner.

I need to find a before pix where I am not hiding behind something or someone LOL.

Yes, it definitely works great. Get the book read it and follow it closely. It has been a life-saver for me. I was never good at sticking to any program but this one I am able to stick to.

Adeela, check out the before and after pics at the top of this forum. There are some awesome stories up there.

As for the sugar cravings kicking in later on today....increasing your protein intake will help with this quite a bit.

Absolutely it works IF you can do it. If you can stick to it and not give up. It works VERY fast at the beginning and then it slows down (for me anyway, not for everyone).

The trick is sticking in there when it gets discouraging, when the scale doesn't want to move.

I know what you mean about being tired of dieting. Atkins might make you look at it differently.

Adeela, like the others here, I truly believe LC works. Especially for those of us who seem to have a sugar/starch addiction. It has worked for me. Now, here is a stupid question(hey-I'm allowed I'm new here). What is soul cysters?
