Smile Hi I'm New and Just starting Atkins

I have 100 lbs to lose, but I know I can do it with everyone's help.

I just had a question regarding dairy.

I read that light cream is better than 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee is that correct?

Thank you so much, and it really is a joy to be with all of you.

I also have a very active 4 year old so I hope to be getting more active with him.

Thanks again

This is a great place to get the support and help that you need.
I'm guessing this is the first time that you have done atkins (since you're asking about the 1/2 and 1/2). What most people would recommend here is to read the book and then read it again! I have been told that heavy cream is actually best. (andit tastes just fine in coffee).
I look forward to hearing how you are doing and tracking your progress. Good luck on the induction!

Welcome! Heavy whipping cream is the best, as far as i've heard, and it's fabulous in coffee. It also makes a mean mousse for the times you have a sweet attack.

BTW- That's one of my favorite Goddess plaques. <grins>

Red face Welcome!

You've come to a great place for advice & support!

If you're doing Atkins, my advice is to get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution and read it & re-read it until you understand exactly how this plan works. As for light cream or half & half...avoid them both & use heavy cream.

You CAN do this!

All the best to you,

Kim

yup I, 2nd and 3rd, reading and rereading the book. You will be amazed how much it will help you on this journey. Check out the atkins website too for great info, and our FAQ section.

About the light cream, Ive never heard of light cream. I use 1/2 & 1/2 just because I drink so much coffee....its cheaper than heavy cream.

I use the heavy cream. I agree with everyone, the book has been my weight loss bible and I refer back to it frequently. It teaches me something new every time.
