Ms Spotdog, thanks. Seeing the pic of my son is sad for me right now. He is away at Camp Cook Louisiana, and I don't know for sure when he'll be home. I miss him. He's been gone a week and I haven't got to talk to him or a letter. I have to remind myself that he will call or write when he gets a chance. He's at the hands of the Army, so no communication with home isn't his choice. He is a specialist in the Combat Engineer dept. and he is there for some type of extra training. He called it "Sapper School" or something like that.

I assume it's okay to resurrect a thread if it's already a sticky? 
I found a video last night that utterly horrified me at first, but it did serve to remind me of how far I've come, so I grabbed a still from it, gathered my courage, and decided to share. Now I kind of wish I hadn't destroyed the very few photos that were taken of me when I was at my highest. You can't see my face in the "before" shot, but I looked like a totally different person!
This is somewhere between an 85 and an 88 pound loss, and the vast majority of it's due to low-carb. I cannot say enough about this WOE.

I was a little hesitant to post, because I did drop about fifteen pounds of that in an unhealthy way, but MOST of it was due to Atkins.
Not to mention that my weight bounced back up a bit, after I stopped the restricting and such...yet another reason that stuff isn't a good idea; it doesn't work long-term. I wish I could go back in time and smack some sense into myself!

Progession: 2004--2007 (185 to 154)
Tonight, to give myself a little inspiration, I decided to make a little "progression" picture collage thingy. The first two pics--from 2004 and 2005, are me at about 185 (Halloween and outside my house). The third one is when I'm at 165 (20lbs lost) and the fourth one is just the other day at 154 (31 pounds lost). In the 4th photo--that thing on my neck is my ball python, not a huge growth 
I'm a little sad to see that I don't APPEAR to have lost much...or is that my biased imagination? Anyway...here they are! Hoping to add a new photo to the bunch in a month or so! And then a final photo not too long after that

Thanks so much I know I've gotten smaller. I'm wearing smaller clothes! But maybe it's just that inner Fat Girl whispering in my ear, telling me that I haven't changed--she's really annoying.
You'll be at 31lbs lost in no time Atkins is the best plan I've been on so far--so I'm sure that if you stick to it, you'll be at your goal before you know it!

A definate change in your body shape Azure. You have boobs in your first picture that every woman would be envious of lol. When I gain weight, the first place it goes is to my boobs which I really don't mind, but to sacrifice my boobs a lil bit to lose weight everywhere is a bonus!
