Trade our clothes that don't fit?

  • Howdy Howdy!

I had an idea and it may be totally silly but I thought I might see what you all thought. You can be honest. I won't be offended. It's just an idea. I really haven't thought too much about how it would work. I figure if people are interested we have plenty of smart women here to figure that out.

I know that as I'm outgrowing my clothes I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do with them. When on Weight watchers I'd keep them around "Just in Case" but I'm not doing that this time. I could sell them or donate them but what if we found a way to do a barter or clothing exchange or "garage sale" or something between those of us who are losing the weight. What made me think of it was Star Princess' beautiful black coat that everyone wants when she gets too skinny for it. Maybe we all have closets of clothes that are too big/small for us but would be perfect for someone else in the group.

Like I said, not sure of the logistics but if anyone is interested maybe we could look into working it out somehow. We know there are lots of similar body styles, just look at the thread we have going about it. I'm sure Lekker, our resident engineer can help us figure something out if there is interest.

Well, just curious. Like I said, no feelings hurt if you tell me I'm crazy.

  • Hi Jamie - I too am not keeping my clothes this time "just in case" - or "IF" I get pregnant again! I am giving them away. My sizes are much too large to give to anyone on this board but at church today one of the men mentioned to me and dh that the city missions in each city is ALWAYS looking for clothing for the homeless. So I gave a huge box to a woman at church and whatever she doesn't want is going to the missions.

It's so bad with me that I have at least 2 full rubbermaid totes in my attic for all sizes from 8 to 26. Now I've ditched the 24 & 26's and going down the line now.
