Live and learn - Did you know that just because you are in ketosis this does not necessarily mean you are burning stored body fat?
I didn't.....it seems that ketosis signifies that yes, your body is using fat for fuel, instead of glucogen/glucose, BUT this may be the fat you are ingesting on a daily basis (the high fat part of the Atkins diet) and not stored body fat.
I always thought that if the sticks were turning pink, that I was burning body fat - and I guess I was wrong!

So does this mean I don't need to test or buy any more strips? I can usually tell (from metallic taste) when I'm in ketosis and I use the strips as a boost to show I'm burning fat - but maybe that's the olive oil I had with dinner?
...and not the stuff that's been sitting on my hips for awhile!
