On Saturday I will be binge free for 90 days!

  • And it's all because I finally kicked the sugar and grains.

I'm relatively high carb compared to some of the people on this board. I follow the Primal Blueprint, except I eat still eat peanut butter. I basically don't touch grains, sugar, potatoes or legumes, except I eat a little honey here and there or some sugar in my super dark chocolate. I just don't let my carbs get over 100gs a day.

It's worked wonders. It's fantastic. I can't express the weight that's been lifted off my shoulders where food is concerned. I've never been this comfortable with food in my entire life.

I haven't gone this long without binging in my adult life, so it's really an amazing thing for me.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for being so super supportive!
  • As a fellow binge eater I have to say congratulations to you and WOW
  • That is wonderful. I have found the same thing. After eliminating sugar, bread, pasta, and etc the urge to binge was gone. What a relief not to have to fight that urge. Wish I had learned this 40 years ago.
  • Congrats!
  • Congratulations, that's wonderful Sounds like we have a similar approach, except that I eat some legumes and don't do honey or chocolate. Hopefully I can be as successful as you've been
  • I am so happy for you, that you finally found a way out of your prison.

I hope one day to be binge free for 90 days.

    Helena
(May I point out that it's bingeing not binging? Just me being a pedant!)
  • Congratulations Walrus & time2lose! I finished a 7-month low carb diet and although I've maintained for about 5 mo., I've become more prone to binge eating than before. I'm going to try your method, Walrus, and see if I can step off the roller coaster. Thanks for the pedantry, Helena
  • Whay were you bingeing on?
  • Awesome. Same thing happened to me. The change in appetite has been fantastic beyond belief. AND we are restarting our bodies ability to burn fat instead of always storing and holding on to it.

People get all mad and bent out of shape when you tell them how much appetite goes down and how much easier losing weight becomes. You know what? Instead of getting mad, how about trying it?
  • brilliant!
