Default Carb Counting Newbie

Hello Girls!! This is my 3rd, or 15th, time back on the wagon I have finally realized that calorie counting alone is not going to do it for me. I would normally try to keep my calories around 1500, but I was also eating anywhere from 125-200 carbs a day! I have PCOS, and I am insulin resistant and on Metformin, so I know that low carb is definitely the best option for me if I don't want to develop diabetes..Over the last 5 days, I have kept my carbs at or under 50 net grams and my calories no higher than 1500, with one higher carb day at 89 carbs and 1800 calories, and I have lost 4 lbs already!! I don't care if it's water weight, it's 4 lbs!!!! Anywho, is it realistic to think that this will work long term, or should I be cutting the carbs even more? All advice appreciated!!
