Default Questions: Primal Blueprint Diet?

Is anyone following the Primal Blueprint Diet? I'd like some information/feedback before investing in yet another "diet book." I've been successful on Atkins in the past, lost 46 pounds and have kept it off (give or take 5 pounds), but I'm having trouble getting back on Atkins. I've heard good things about Primal eating, but I don't know much. How is it different from Paleo eating? When I look for information, sometimes I see the two names used interchangeably. I have another 50 - 70 pounds to lose, so I need a boost.

Thanks so much.

Here are the basics

Primal Blueprint:
Eat Liberally – All Meats and Organ Meats, Low Carb Vegetables, Fats and Oils
Don’t Overdo it On – Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Wild Rice, Fruit (Eat Mainly Berries), Cheese, Yogurt, Cream
Eat At Your Discretion – All Dairy Products
Avoid – Grains, Legumes, Sugar

Paleo:
Eat Liberally – Lean Meats, Low Carb Vegetables, Fruit
Don’t Overdo it On – Nuts, Dried Fruit, Avocado, Oils such as Olive or Flaxseed
Avoid – Fatty Meats, Starchy or Higher-carb Vegetables, Cheese, Dairy, Legumes, Grains, Salty Foods, Butter, Sugar

Hope this helps

The author of the Primal Blueprint has a very comprehensive website called Mark's Daily Apple. There's lots of great info there, you don't have to buy the book if you don't want to. He points this out himself - just that the book is a lot more convenient than trawling through lots of pages and comments.

There are so many degrees of paleo eating that some primal people are pretty strict paleo types and others less so. Dairy is probably the main difference. In both groups there are people who eat quite a lot of starchy vegetables (sweet potatoes, some fruits), fatty meats vs lean and then the quality of that meat ... it's more of a spectrum than hard and fast rules (except the ditching grains, legumes, sugar). Lots of people eating both styles are less concerned with weight loss than improving their health (I mean they are already at a healthy weight).
