I assume they want you do get in calories - as if sugar isn't toxic and probably related to cancer growth! OK, call me paranoid about my weight loss, but I am really more concerned about how I will respond to a sudden influx of sugar. I will probably just go with a soft diet of eggs, protein shakes and hopefully can keep stuff down until I can resume my usual protein, fat, and veggie consumption.

sskar - I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope the recovery is short and you are cancer free very soon!

I'm down another 3 pounds this week.

Sskar - I'm so very sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Please update us after your surgery!

Hellloooo to everyone else! I've been MIA for a month - work stress and busyness, and I've been posting more over at MDA. I finally figured out a few things after reading 3 books and getting a 4x cortisol/DHEA test - yup, I have adrenal fatigue. It's probably no surprise to those who know me here - I have a super high stress and busy job (teaching high school!), and I've never been a good sleeper. Well, I now know I'm not necessarily a night owl - my nighttime cortisol is high, which truly makes it hard to get quality sleep. I am also hypothyroid, which I've learned often goes hand in hand with the adrenal issues.

The good news is I now know what I'm working with exactly and have the summer off to work on healing. My number one priority right now is to find a good doc who has experience treating adrenal/cortisol issues. I am not one of those who can just figure it all out and self treat. I also know I need to work very hard to minimize stress in my life. Not sure how that will play out next school year (my school becomes more stressful with each passing year), but I know this summer I need to get 8 hours sleep per night consistently, meditate/yoga, exercise, and continue to eat the healthful paleo diet.

I actually feel pretty good all things considered (better than I felt a year or two ago), and I most definitely attribute that to my WOE for the past year. I can only imagine how much worse I would feel if I weren't eating well.

Anyway, sorry I've been MIA so long. I hope all of you are well - I certainly miss my 3FC friends!

Sskar - prayers going out to you as you prepare for surgery.

Sskar -- Prayers are with you

Claire -- I work in a high school library and I know exactly what the teachers are going through, I would not want your job in a million years... Teachers who are dedicated do not ever get paid enough... Hope you have a relaxing summer

I've been good, not great, but good... holding my own, not losing, not gaining either... I've stopped running, it's gotten too hot and started biking it's a nice change... still going to the gym... Boring life although lots of stuff going on, hence the reason I've also been MIA ...

Hey June starts tomorrow!! Are we all bikini ready ........NOT!!!!!!!!!

Hey all. I survived surgery (not exactly a high-risk one), lost 4.2 pounds of breast tissue and gained 1.3 pounds of saline in my temporary implants. No point in continuing to weigh myself as I have a lot of swelling, 4 drains in place, and heck at this point I need to focus on nutrition. My appetite is horrid so getting down protein (or anything) is difficult. My family is extra vigilant since healing of my very thin chest wall is so dependent on good nutrition. So glad I lost mucho weight before the boobs came off, but my skin was so stretched out... At least the plastic surgeon has a lot of tissue to work with at the end of reconstruction.

I am looking for a primal thread, too. i was here last year before i got preggers and now that i am a momma to a four month old i wanted to post in the monthly thread we had going on here, but i guess it's gone? i hope that it is just hiding!

as far as non dairy meals, i am mostly non dairy. i do use butter and sometimes even milk, but for the most part i now stay away from dairy. even my beloved cheese.

yesterday
bacon and then eggs cooked in the bacon fat with lots of sriracha sauce
broccoli (lots)
salmon cooked in butter (but you can use saved bacon fat or coconut oil)
asparagus roasted in sesame oil with sesame seeds and kosher salt

i hope someone swings by this thread to give us a link to an amazing ongoing support thread for us primal/paleo fans!

I know you posted this months ago, but I hope you are on the mend and doing well now. I couldn't read this and not post.
