As far as carb counting, Thanksgiving's foods are easier on the carb allowance than the upcoming holidays, mostly because of the sweets associated with Christmas, especially with baking.

Find a low carb cheesecake recipe for a holiday dessert. Also make eggnog from scratch. We rarely eat desserts, but I want this year to feel more festive and not restrictive. I plan on allowing (within my carb allowance) a piece of chocolate with my cognac. I plan on a low carb appetizer tray with meat pinwheels, stuffed mushrooms and so on. I am writing down my menus and collecting recipes. Luckily I have no parties to attend and just one dinner at my parents to go to, but they don't overdo the foods at all. My mother is more into quality than quantity.
For me, I have no desire to go off my plan!
