Does anyone get cold on low carb?

  • Im freezing...ever since I started low carb (100g a day) Is it something else??
  • I have never been cold due to low carb, but have felt cold due to not having enough sleep, or having been sedentary, or feeling under the weather, or change of season, or TOM, or stress/worries, or being thinner. I always take a sweater when I go to stores. The AC is too cold in the stores for me.

One hundred carbs per day is lower than the Standard American Diet, but it is not low enough for one's body to change the way it metabolizes macronutrients.

If you've stopped eating sugar or caffeine in the last few days, it might be the detox.

That's all I can think of, at the moment. Hope some of it helps.
  • GOOD NEWS! When you are in low carb and you are burning fat (optimal goal) it is not uncommon to be cold! YEAH! Sweet!

Now this is not to say that when you are not cold you are not burning fat. I am cold sometimes and not sometimes and I average 50-75 carbs a day. When I am cold and it is uncomfortable, or long lasting, I double check my intake, it is often because I need to up my protien and fat, so a quick snack or a hard boiled egg, or some nuts, or cottage cheese and I am feeling great
