I'm doing a high protein/low carb diet, (50% protein, 30% carb, 20% fat).
I eat protein with every meal(5), eat mostly fibrous carbs, no starchy carbs in PM.
I drink 60oz water minimum each day.
I'm carb-cycling, also known as zig-zagging... 3 days low carbs, 1 day higher carbs.
On the higher day I add carbs to increase my calories by 300-400.
I haven't been doing it all that long, but so far, so good.
If you have the proper balance of carbs, protein, and fat for your body, you should not have any side effects.

After you fill out the first part of the form, Click advanced options
, enter body fat % as 40 (based on your weight, height, age) and calculate to get your calories per day. Click the 7 day calorie cycle
to see what they recommend.
Then you need to figure your macro-nutrient ratios
I recommend selecting 5 meals a day (3 meals, 2 snacks) and low carb.
Be sure to drink at least 64 oz of water a day!
They calories may seem high, but give it a try for a couple weeks, then you can make adjustments if needed.
