Eggs

I did the Atkins Diet several years ago, and had great success with it. But I am not sure if I was doing exactly right but I did lose weight, and then gained it back after high school and a baby. I have been doing Calorie Counting and lost about 30lbs but my weight has really stalled. I haven't lost anything in about 2.5 weeks. I know that isn't long, but I am part of a Biggest Loser Contest in my hometown and I wanna win. So I have decided to do Atkins for 2 weeks just to change my body chemistry and maybe get things rolling again.

My question is: When eating eggs should you eat the YOLK or just the white. Cuz with calorie counting I toss the YOLK, but I think if I remember right the yolk is okay on the Atkins?

I have successfully counted calories since July and lost almost 60 pounds in these last 8 months. I eat 2 whole eggs most mornings. They are an excellent source of protein and help me feel satisfied.

My trainer tells me not to eat the Yolk because of the fat content, I dunno. I am actually going to see a nutritionist next saturday so maybe she can help me.

Atkins is a high fat eating plan, we eat whole eggs:) I eat at least 2 a day....usually more. Just be prepared when you visit the "nutritionist" as I'm sure she will tell you to stay away from whole eggs and unless she is really educated regarding low carb, she will most likely tell you Atkins is not healthy.

Eat the whole egg. The cholesterol content, bah, unless you have a big problem with your cholesterol problems.

On Atkins you have to be unafraid of fat-- I kind of question whether it is a good idea to stop and go like that, or if you can really "change your body chemistry" as quickly as 2 weeks.
