Chickadee-- Morning! I'm glad to hear you're at least feeling a little better...I hope that your "little" turns into "a lot" better by tomorrow. Being sick is NO fun--especially in the summer!

Aud
--I agree with Chickadee, I always LOVE reading your posts You're so friendly and you keep me feeling motivated. I hope you win HUGE at the Casino--then you can tell your management to kiss off and move to the Bahamas

It feels good to be back on Atkins with a plan. I've got food lined up to cook tonight and was on plan for the last two days. FINALLY I feel like I'm getting back into "the zone" It's a good thing, too. Even if I can't start school at 145, I can at least start school in the 140s (I think that between losing the glycogen that I've stored through my carbing and losing some real weight, I can lose the 5 pounds that will put me at 149 by the end of August). If I stay in my zone, I can start school on the right foot--and that's important!

Hope the rest of ya'll have a GREAT rest of the day!

Wootness!!! Congrats on your Atkins WHOOSH and on beating your labor day challenge about two weeks early! That's awesome! Now that I'm back on track, I'm hoping for some wooshage myself

Hey, Beachie! I've only been around since July, so I don't think I was around when you were last here, but welcome back anyway These girls have been SO kind and welcoming to me...so I hope you feel just as warmly welcomed! I'm also from MA--I go to UMass at Dartmouth, which is really close to the Cape, we're geographic neighbors

I did really good food-wise today, and I'm so proud of another day on plan. I'm taking it one day at a time. Now I've just got to start some sort of exercise...I've joined a "race to 5 pounds" challenge over in the Featherweights support group...and I really want to race!!

Check in with ya'll tomorrow!

Hi hi!

Welcome back to the forums Slimdown and beachie! I'm fairly new to these forums as well, but I also have already gotten so much advice and help... my routine has turned into browsing the forums, gathering motivation, and finally getting my butt into gear with some exercise

I've only really gotten serious with low-carbing three days ago; the first week is definitely the hardest Can't wait for it to be over!

It's so nice to meet and hear from you all ^_^

Hi everyone, it's great to see everyone back. I'm trying to pull myself out of a carb-fest weekend. Today I mean business. Plus, gotta get this butt to moving on the treadmill.

I've not been feeling too well and just ate whatever what was on hand. Unfortunately convenience foods were high in carbs and just basically junk. I still haven't even weighed myself, although I know I did great and lost weight last week. I'm gonna get off here and go fix me some eggs and turkey bacon. I am hungry now.

Hi Ladies

Thanks for the welcome back. I didn't do too bad on this cruise like I did on the last two.I gained a total of 20 lbs. this time it was 6,but fortunately I lost 3 already.

Aud-We went to Nova Scotia for a week. We had beautiful weather, not like the hot humid ones that we left at home. I shouldn't have left low carbing as I know that what wrong with my weight loss its the carbs, especially the grain & bread ones.

Azure-Thanks for the welcome back. We aren't from the Cape, more or less transplanted from Long Island NY. We retired to Cape Cod 10 years ago, loving it when we come up here on a bus tour. Thats a great idea " race to loss 5 pounds Challenge" I go to different support groups also to motivate myself, into losing weight.

Slim Down-Welcome and BIG CONGRATS thats must be a wonderful feeling to lose 10lbs. I never managed that amount in my weight loss. 3 here & 3 there is what happens to me.

Azraelya-You'll lose that feeling once you have detoxed off of bad carbs.I was there and it lasted 2 days before it left me.I like browsing the support message boards also. Theres alot of information on the net,its just a matter of where to find it.

Have to go and have my lunch

hey all!

i am finally feeling better - good enough to even go to the gym tonight!

i really havent eaten much the past few days but what i have eaten has been all carb loaded although i have been eating between 250-800 cals - not alot so hopefully i might even lose?

i have been going so back in forth about sticking to atkins lately - as some of you can prob tell by my recent posts - i dont know if i can maintain eating such low levels of carbs for life - mind you once i reach goal i know i can incorporate more LC fruits and whole grains back into my diet....but its seems so far off.

I am really trying to stick to 20 grams which i for the most part have been doing (with the exception of 1 derailed day and this past sickness) but feel as though it will take forever to get to goal....i guess i am just whining becasue i am frustrated.
it seems once i get back on track i have a set back that puts 3 - 4 pounds back on. i had hoped to be at least 185 by now...

Hi Ladies

Oh what a beautiful day we have up on the Cape, the temps last night were in the 50's. Great sleeping weather. Heading down to the beach again to get my walking done, but this time I'm not going to forget my hand weights.

Nothing new except I have to get back to cleaning & doing the laundry for the next couple of days.

Lost another 1-lb today Hope it continues down by Saturday W-I.

Chickadee-I've have been going crazy, trying to play the carb count game,by going as as low as 20-25 group than moving the carbs to the 30-35 level.Than I found out that bread & grains are the culprit stopping the scale from moving down,so I don't use them. I made a whole batch of Rev. Rolls when I feel like having the bread. I still add fruit & yogurt[high sugar grams] to my diet.Scale is moving downward again. Lost 3 yesterday and another 1 this morning=Total of 4 of the 6 that I gained on the cruise.

Hi ladies, I'm up and around today after a yucky night last night. My blood sugar bottomed out down to 42. I felt so sick and like passing completely out. Had to eat a TBSP of PB quickly. I just plain haven't been feeling very well and I'm sure had not eaten enough yesterday. I am still doing Low Carb again and need to keep track of cal's too and make sure I get at least 1400 cal's per day. With my glucophage it's unsafe to not eat enough.

chickadee, I incorporated a lot of fruit even from the beginning of starting Atkins and it worked for me. But, of course, everyone is different. It was the bread, rice, potatoes and pasta that would cause a gain for me. It definitely looks like you need to eat more calories. I'd feel horrible at that calorie level.

BB, I'm still jealous of you having that nice beach to walk on. Congrat's on taking off those 4 lbs. so quickly.

Hi all. I was out of town all day yesterday and didn't get to the gym, and today I'm scheduled within an inch of my life and probably won't get there today either. Tomorrow I'm committed from 8:30 to 11 (meeting including driving time), and from noon-4 (a volunteer phone shift). Maybe after 4 I will still have the energy to go (she said, somewhat unrealistically). Friday I need to go to Napa for blood tests, that will take at least 4 hours minimum. I've been putting it off for a month now because I didn't have that mujch time that coincided with the hours the lab is open! Then I leave again at 6 for an appt, at 8 (everything is at least half a very large county away from here) and won't get home until nearly 10. Saturday I'm working as a docent at the State Park from 10-1, and the gym is only open 8-2 on Saturdays. Not even remotely possible to drive there, work out, drive home, shower, change clothes for the park Visitor's Center, and drive to the park. Some weeks ae just like this, I guess. And I'm supposed to be retired. People think they can ask me to do all kinds of favors because "You're retired, what else do you have o do?" and then they think I'm fibbing when I say "I really don't have time!" Funnny, every retired woman I know has pretty much the same jam-packed life I have. Boredom not a problem! We all burst into gales of helpless laughter when people ask us how we manage to keep ourselves occupied.

Now hat I am weighing differently and not taking diuretics, I was awfully happy to be back in the 240's this morning. I don't feel nearly so pouty about the darned number anymore. I wonder why the number seems so much more important than the rest of the reality, sometimes? I'm eating on plan, my body is getting visibly smaller (finally!), changing the baseline didn't change anything except a number (loosely) describing the current situation, but yet I STILL felt like i had lost ground. Like I had gained 10 lbs. of fat back, even though I knew intellectually that no such thing had happened. The psychology of weight is a mysterious and powerful phenomonon, isn't it.
