Hey everyone. I've been keeping an eye on this thread, and have decided to partake if that's cool.
On average, I am eating 1800-2000 Cals a day to slowly ease myself down, but I am finding that sometimes when I eat, I am stuffed, and if I don't eat my entire meal (which can sometimes be big to get those cals in), I have to fit 2 snacks in at night, and I don't like eating so close to bedtime. Yesterday I tried approx 1700 or so Cals, and that was still just a little too much, so last night, when building my meal plan for today, I think I have found my happy number. 1600. It's a comfortable amount of food, I'm never hungry, but never full. I drink tons of water, so that usually keeps me full enough.
I'm just starting out, so any advice that anyone has about their cal intake at this weight and this early in the game, please let me know!
Today's Cals: 1506
This will allow me an additional 100 calories if a meal doesn't fill me up enough.
I'm really embarassed by my calories today but I promised myself I'd be accountable by posting here everyday.
I had a bad day calories wise. Yesterday I was low then today I'm back up again At least I got in an hour of hard exercise.
Wednesday: 2551 calories, 359 deficits, 1 hour Tae Bo
Well, another day down. I'm really, really proud of myself for being 5 days binge free.
I went to Wal-Mart today to do the grocery shopping and I found something to help me out. Nestle diet hot chocolate. I compared it with the "no sugar added" and "low carb" varieties and the Nestle Diet has only 25 calories. There was another one out there that had 25 cals, but had like 10 more carbs. Nestle won!
Today's calories: 1,300. No working out. Okay! Had my two days off, tomorrow begins the next 5 day streak. Tomorrow is belly dance class. Yay, belly dancing, yaaaay!
Whoever it was about my calories -- please stick your nose in! I NEED HELP! LOL!!!
I'm going shopping Friday and I am going to be trying sooo hard to break it at 1000 calories for 5 days in a row and see if i can get myself used to more calories!
When you guys are talking about binge eating, what exactly do you mean?

I am really tired today. I have stuck to my 1500 calorie plan even though it was severally tough when I broke out the pizza for my kids tonight. I scarfed down salad as quick as I could so I wasn't starving before the main course of grilled chicken and veggies. It helped alot!! and i only had a sliver of pizza worth 150 calories.
LookingForhope, I believe and may be mistaken, but I think binge eating is when you eat everything in sight or just your favorite "NO, NO's" over your required calorie count. That is my understanding of it and Taco Bell gets me everytime. So for now it is off limits for me along with candy, and...
I did get in 5 miles today; wow, I got up thinking I would get a good work out on the treadmill only. Then a new friend asked me to go walking and before we knew we had done 3 miles. I am suppose to meet her again tomorrow morning to try out her gym. She wants to get together regularly. I am so thrilled to have a walking partner!!
LookingForHope - If your having a hard time eating more, take into consideration foods that are calorie dense yet nutritious. Some people kill egg yolks and only eat the whites, which is good for some poeple. However, I'd rather eat an entire egg because of the rich nutrients in those yolks. It's higher calorie than the whites, but I'm not filled up on egg whites. Cheese, mixed nuts, peanut butter on whole grain bread. Cook your meats in calorie laden yet heart healthy fats such as olive oil or canola oil.
Laughloveandalways - Glad you found a partner! And 5 miles, to.

Reason: Typo
Somehow, in an incredibly stressful week, I have managed to stay below 1400 calories...Knowing that I am reporting my progress here & on Fitday really makes me mindful of what I'm doing...woo hoo!
Let's not talk about exercise though.... I've been walking but nothing heavy duty like the elliptical or weight training.
When you guys are talking about binge eating, what exactly do you mean?
Binge eating is when you consume a high number of calories (or a lot of food), moreso than the average person, in a couple hours time. Binge eating doesn't usually happen with every meal. It's similar to overeating. What is a Compulsive Overeater or Binge Eating Syndrome?
I hope that helps!
I didn't post yesterday, but cals yesterday were 1746. And my percentages were almost exactly where I wanted them! Today, not so easy hah. Will post today's cals a little later.
