Low calorie treats for a chocolate craving?
I have had horrible chocolate cravings all weekend long. Today I gave in and had 1/4 cup of chocolate covered raisans, I was trying to stay under 200 calories. What are some other good chocolate craving killers?

I just had some malted milk balls. A serving of the brand I buy is 10 malt balls, and 5 is PLENTY to satisfy most of my chocolate cravings, and only 70 calories. I also eat Pria bars sometimes - at least if I'm going to eat chocolate, I get some vitamins, minerals, and protein in there.

Sugar-free, fat-free pudding (Hunts makes a variety that is only 60 calories per serving). I buy the kind that is already made and sealed into its own little single serving cup, that way I don't have to worry about eating too much.
Also, sugar-free fudgsicles--(only 45 calories per pop).
I also like the following energy bars:
- Pria 110 calorie bars - comes in a chocolate chip variety
- Balance 100 calorie bars, but I don't think they have a chocolate variety
- Zone Perfect snack size bars (80 calories per bar) - chocolate coated peanut butter
All of these taste like a candy bar but at least have a little more nutrients (although I wouldn't go so far as to say they are healthy )
I haven't found a chocolate variety yet, but I do keep butterscotch or caramel sugar-free hard candies on hand. They are only about 5 calories per candy and last longer than eating a cookie or piece of soft candy. I've found that they can really help with my late evening sugar cravings.

I second the no-sugar-added fudgesicles. They're individually wrapped, so less chance of overeating, and even if you do go crazy and have 4 of them, it's still under 200 calories!
I do love some fat-free, sugar-free chocolate pudding, but since I'm not a huge chocoholic, I like to mix the fat-free Cool Whip into the pudding to cut the flavor a little--YUM!

I have two things that work for a chocolate craving: - 100-calorie Oreo snack pack
- Dark chocolate -- Yes, REAL chocolate. Dove has little foil wrapped dark chocolate pieces that are around 26 calories each. When I have them in the house, I keep the bag in the freezer and just have one chocolate after lunch. Since it is frozen, it takes awhile for it to melt on the tongue. (No chewing allowed.)
For me, nothing else really works (besides a big bag of M&M's and that really isn't such a good choice).

~Hershey Kisses are 25 calories each...so you can have 1, 2, or 4 and still be okay. Suck on them rather than chewing them to make them last.
~Sugar Free Hot Cocoa varies from 20 to 80 calories per cup.
~Sugar Free Jell-O pudding cups are 60 calories each.
~Hershey "sticks" (in a box with other boxed candies such as Andes mints) are 60 calories each.

- 3 Musketeer Miniatures are 24 calories each. I usually suck on them for as long as I can or take small bites (like it's not small enough) and chew very slowly.
- My boss has a bowl of various kinds of chocolate on her desk. She has (or had, because I ate them all) Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares. These squares are pretty big and are only 50 calories.

I second the hersheys sticks! Really if you are just counting calories and not worried about fat and sugar, just about any candy bar on the market is around 250 calories, just eat half and save the rest for another day....

Ghirardelli squares, the dark chocolate--I'll second that. Great chocolate, manageable calories.
Also, Guylian makes a decent sugar-free (maltitol) chocolate, one serving is 120 calories and it's pretty generous--and if you slip and eat the whole bar , you're not sunk for the day.

I like chocolate mini merengue cookies. I get them at Trader Joes....I wasn't a fan of the sugar free ones...but the regular ones are 110 calories for like 13 cookies.

I used to love Hershey's tastetations (~20 calories each and they'd last 10 minutes or so) but I don't think they make them anymore. So how about some other brand of hard chocolate candy? 60 calories gets you half an hour of chocolate. :-)

If you like icecream...
Skinnycows are about 120 cals or 150 for the cone
I'm also a fan of the Oreo 100calpacks not much bulk there, but they are good
Mocha Latte with Skim milk (depends on size but mine runs about 150cals)

I like to keep a bag of frozen berries in the fridge and then when I want a treat I put them frozen into a bowl then top w/ Cocoa powder and splenda, microwave and its some yummy stuff, sometimes Ill put some Free Cool Whip on top too, yummy.
Cocoa powder is a good thing to remember for chocolate cravings, it has no fat and very low calories. Oh and I just remembered this thing I used to do (Im just now getting back into my diet after a year or so off), take the Cool Whip Free and mix in some cocoa powder then stick it in the freezer and you have quasi chocolate ice cream for like 30 calories a scoop.
