Default Favorite low cal filling snacks?

I'm looking for some ideas for filling snacks that wont take up too many of my daily calories. I'm already trying to eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, yogurt and low cal granola bars but there are only so many varieties. I'm new to calorie counting so I don't have a lot of tricks yet and I get hungry between meals.

If you're used to "health" food... I'll make a healthy mug brownie! 1/2 c. Apple sauce, 2 egg whites, 2tbs unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tbs pb2 (or peanut butter), and sweetener- microwave for 2 minute and... Ta Da! A brownie! I depend on it for my chocolate fix. (about 150 calories)

Ok I totally thought this was going to be a one-way trip to fail town but OMG this is amazing!

I didn't have any applesauce, so I peeled and chopped up a small apple added some cinnamon, water, and stevia and nuked that for 2 minutes first so it was softened, then I added the rest of the ingredients. Instead of PB2 I used 4 TBS of de-fatted peanut flour. Total was 221 calories (Not sure how you got yours down to 150, unless its in the amount of apple).

Next time a pinch of salt will be added and I think I will try it with a banana instead of apple next time.

But WOW thank you for this recipe. I see many healthy mugs-o-brownie in my future!

My favorite mega-filling low low low calorie snack is bean sprouts that I sprout myself weekly.

You can use the regular beans from the grocery store or order them online (garbonzo/chickpeas, peas, lentils, mung beans, adzuki beans). I use an empty pickle jar, a piece of netting and a rubber band as my sprouting vessel (no need to spend money on fancy contraptions they advertise online). Here is a very down to earth, no-nonsense intstructable on sprouting http://www.instructables.com/id/Spro...r-own-Sprouts/

I actually like to eat these at about the 3rd day when they are still bean shaped and just starting to sprout. They are crunchy and more of a snack of a vegetable then a salad item (I really don't like salad...).

Usually I eat them plain by the handful. Sometimes I'll dice up tomato and cucumber and make a greek dressing. Or just lemon, salt and pepper.

An entire CUP of sprouted mung beans is only 15 calories. If you ate a whole cup though, you would feel like you were gonna burst. Lentils are a but higher at 82 calories for a cup.

Haha "a one-way trip to fail town"? I almost died laughing. Yeah it's actually supposed to be made with a banana but I didn't have one and pb2 is pretty low calorie, and my applesauce is 50 cals for 1/2 c.... I also put some light whipped cream on it if I'm really feeling naughty ;-) but I'm glad someone else liked it!!

I love to snack on salads with fruit thrown in. The yummiest one I've made recently includes tomatoes, onions, garlic, mango and pineapple. DELISH!!! You don't even need dressing because the mango and pineapple let off their own juices!!
