Today was a bad day. Not feeling well so my diet is hardly balanced. I just ate what felt good at the moment but stayed in range so I am going to give myself a small pat on the back. I didn't allow myself to veer out of control I noticed, though, that with the migraine came the desire for carbs, carbs, and more carbs. Since I stuck with fruit and whole grains I'm not going to sweat it too much, just note for the future that my comfort foods could be improved upon in the protein and healthy fats department!

B- gnc lean shake (180)
S- grapefruit slices (120)
S- 2 tbls pb (190)
L- greek yogurt and berries (135)
S- popcorn (180)
D-deli flat with light swiss (160)
S- kashi tlc crackers and laughing cow lite (190)

1155

I did not, however, exercise. So that was a big fat fail. I thought I might try after a nap if I woke up minus the migraine. Since I stayed on the low side for calories and am still feeling shaky I am not going to try and sneak a treadmill workout in after all. One rest day is not going to derail me. I hope.

Changed my mind. 3 sets of 10 each of lat pull, bicep curl, tricep extension, pec dec, shoulder press and 20 minutes on the treadmill. Decided that babying myself for a day wasn't worth the loss of muscle building opportunity. Didn't do any ab work though. So tomorrow I'll have to hit that.

Good for you for ending up working out!

Wish me luck, Im off to the beach for the weekend with friends...food options will be tough as we're staying at a friend's house. I guess portion control is going to be the name of the game.

S: 1 laughing cow light cheese
L: Lean cuisine pizza (CRAVING PIZZA)
S: 1 cup pineapple, 1 light chocolate protein shake

Still not 100% today and I was craving PB constantly. So I gave in, again, since I can still stay within my calorie limit and have what I consider a "splurge."

B- oatbran cereal with almond butter and honey (215)
S- 2tbls PB (190)
L- deli thin with eggbeaters and light swiss (190)
S- 1tbl PB and cup blueberries (120)
D- shrimp, chicken, snow peas, carrots and rice (600)

1315

Exercise was 30min high intensity on the treadmill (basically running for half an hour at speeds varying from 3.5-6mph and yes, I was hard pressed to finish but I did!) and my nightly 2 mile walk. Still need to get in that ab work!

H82Sweat- I wouldn't consider it a splurge if you fit it in your calories but that's me...

Sitting with a glob of PB on a spoon feels positively decadent to me! So far it has been my only craving.

But I leave for 2 weeks vacation/family get together in Madison WI next week and I will be confronted with good cheese. Could go badly. However I am usually very busy when I am there so maybe that will save me

edited to add, look how close you are to goal!!!!!! WTG!

I'd like to join in here. Seems quite a helpful thread. I should explain that I work night shift and thus I haven't got a normal conception of what sort of foods constitute 'breakfast, lunch, and dinner'. My 'food day' generally starts at midnight or a bit later.

Salad with dark red kidney beans - 120 cals, 9g fat, 3g fibre

8 brown rice crackers -70 cal, 1g fat, 1.5g fibre

Lean Cuisine meal - 270 cal, 7g fat, 4g fibre

Stir fry with pork and 1/2 cup of brown rice - 615 cal, 16g fat, 11.5g fibre

Corn dogs with raw veggies - 418 cal, 18g fat, 2g fibre
Okay, so I was bad…I was getting groceries and a little package of two corn dogs in the deli jumped out at me. Could have been a lot worse, I guess. I'm doing calorie shifting and this was supposed to be a higher calorie day anyway.

Berry smoothie with 0 fat yogurt
153 cal, 0g fat, 7g fibre

Totals: 1646 cal, 51g fat, 29g fibre

I seriously need to work on not having my fruit smoothie be at the end of my day. Probably not good to have all that fruit sugar right before bed. I don't like fruit any way but in smoothies, so I don't just grab an apple or whatever as a snack. I get all my fruit in one meal. Again, probably not great for me, but darn it, it tastes so lovely that way! lol.

Does anyone know if it really is bad to have my fruit this way, and if so, what it does to my body that makes it a poor choice? I have tried Google, but the keywords don't bring up what I'm looking for.

B- kashi go lean cereal with blueberries and skim milk (205)
L- deli flat with 1Tbl PB, 1 banana, blueberries (315)
D- 3oz burger, 2 cups spinach, 1.5 cups mushrooms, slice of lite swiss and black bean chips (395)
S- banana with 1tbl PB and 1tbl semi sweet mini chips (270)
S- string cheese (70)

1255

Exercise for the day was my usual walk and improving the surface for the paver patio to go back down. Lots of shoveling, raking, tamping and hauling dirt. My back and knees are sort of killing me and I hope I can finish the job tomorrow and maybe go swimming
