Hungrier after protein snacks

I've been mainly focusing my attention on lower calories w/o freaking out too much about carbs vs protein etc. BUT that little pie chart at the bottom of my fitday food log just keeps screaming at me that my carbs are way heavier than my proteins each day. Yesterday my carbs were 48%; protein 27% and fats 25%.

So today I thought I'd try to eat more protein rich snacks and I'm just feeling hungrier.

Should I just quit looking at that little pie chart and keep doing what I've been doing? I'm losing weight after all?

My carbs are pretty much always more than my proteins in terms of FitDay percentages...so if that works for you, you don't necessarily *need* to change anything.

That said, the most satiating snack for me is one that combines slow-digesting carb (like fruit or whole grain something or other) with protein.

that's pretty close to my percentages on Fitday - I actually run a little bit higher on the fats because I have avocado just about every day, so I'm more like 25 protein, 30 fat, 45 carb. I think everyone's bodies are different, and some people need to do lower carb (even in the context of counting calories) and others are fine with a higher percentage of carbs.

Like mandalinn said, I find I personally feel best having meals and snacks that have a mix of carbs and proteins. But honestly, if you were losing weight and feeling good, I'd keep doing whatever you were doing!

I'd agree, if what you were doing was working for you, why switch it up? I eat about 70% carbs myself :)

Thanks everyone. I guess that little pie chart was just making me batty having such a big portion go to carbs. I have been trying to eat a carb with a protein each time (like an apple and a string cheese). I'll ignore the pie chart from now on and keep doing what I'm doing.

For me, it's about sugar not carbs. If I eat more than 12 grams of sugar per day, I turn into a raving starving lunatic! (It isn't pretty)

I try to eat lots of fruits and veggies but limit my fruits to lemons and limes and eat low sugar veggies like spinach, salad greens, cabbage, squash, artichokes and sprouts. (I will sneak in a tomato a few times a week for color)
