  • 40gm Scotts porridge oats
    100ml semi-skimmed milk
    = 177 cal.

    Coffee, milk + sugar = 34 cal.

    That's it.
  • 1. Omelettes (scrambled eggs) - I usually use 4-5 large eggs and eat half for breakfast and half for lunch. I toss in diced veggies (red peppers and spring onions are a favourite), sometimes a small chicken or turkey breast or some lean ham. A serving is usually around 250 calories.

    2. Cottage cheese with lean ham, diced red peppers or diced radishes, herbs and spices - around 250-300 calories.

    3. Skyr with nuts - skyr is an Icelandic dairy product high in protein and very low in fat. Ideally use the non-flavoured version and add your own low-calorie flavouring and sweetening. Careful with the nuts, as they are high in calories (but oh so delicious).

    4. Chicken or turkey sausage/pan-fried chicken or turkey breast with a slice of whole grain bread.

    5. If you're in a hurry, a home-made protein bar (protein powder, peanut butter, oatmeal, cocoa powder and your sweetener of choice, all mixed together, shaped into bars and refrigerated). The recipe that I use has about 250 calories per bar.
  • I've been having this the past few mornings and it has completely taken care of my hunger throughout the day.

1 cup of frozen fruit (70 calories) - I use blueberries because they are pretty sweet
1 cup of Kashi GoLean (140 calories) - Gives it a great crunch

    = 316 calories

I layer it in a bowl and put it in the refrigerator. Delicious! Keeps me full from 6:30-10:30 and I haven't really had the hunger pains that I have had in the past.
  • I have 2 bran muffins with nuts and sultanas, there are lots of recipes online and both of these are 380 calories together, they keep me full for a few hours and are yummy!

  • GLORIOUS PURPLE PORRIDGE!

This is divine, very healthy, amazingly filling and only 160cal!

    Cooking apple
    Blueberries
    Cinnamon
    Honey
    Porridge oats

(calorie count includes three teaspoons of sugar also that i add before I eat it)

    First stew the fruit.

I mix one medium sized cooking apple to about 200g of blueberries but any fruit can be used. I add just about half a cup of water to the sliced, peeled cooking apple and simmer in a saucepan until the apple starts to break up. (About 10 minutes) Then add three desertspoons of honey (optional) and three teaspoons of cinnamon. Stir in. Then add the blueberries (frozen is fine) and simmer for another 5 minutes.

This makes enough for about four breakfast bowls. I keep it in the fridge.

For the porridge I add a half a cup of porridge oats to one cup of water. I simmer this in a saucepan until it thickens. I then add 6 desertspoons of the stewed fruit and mix. After 1 minute I take it off the heat and add it to a bowl to eat. I usually add three teaspoons of sugar to it then but that's optional of course.

I ate this first because it would be low calorie and healthy. I kept eating it because it was delicious! And filling! And very fast! Enjoy...
  • My favorite breakfast:

    2 eggs, whites only
1 egg with yolk for flavor
    1 small tomato chopped up
2 jimmy dean fully cooked turkey sausage links chopped up
    2 fresh basil leaves
    salt/pepper to taste
    1oz low-fat cheddar
1 100cal english muffin (Thomas' "Triple Health")

I saute the tomatoes and sausage, add the basil for a few seconds, then the eggs for a scramble. Top with the s/p and cheddar and serve over the english muffin. Comes out to 340 calories according to FitDay! I usually have some fresh fruit with it as well.

I make this for my fiance and I, and he raves over it - he has NO clue its healthy! He says to me "I thought you were on a diet."

    1 1/2 slices multigrain bread - 160
1 tbsp light whipped cream cheese - 30

Half the bread gets cream cheese and preserves. The other half I use to sop up the runny, yummy yolks. It makes me stupidly happy.
