I aim between 1200-1400, and try to stick near the lower range on the days I don't exercise (which unfortunately is the majority of days). On the weekends I allow myself one day of up to 2000 cal. I have to keep my numbers low because i don't have that much left to lose, and my metabolism has gotten really slow from all the yo-yo dieting the past 3 years
I'm also sedentary much of the day, especially now in the winter when I don't want to be outside. I also don't get to exercise that often when I have a lot due for school.
A typical day for me is something like this:
breakfast:
microwavable egg white/turkey sausage/cheese sandwich; or 2 pieces of light toast with a tablespoon of light peanut butter and a banana; or oatmeal and an apple. and coffee with skim milk and splenda
lunch:
smart ones frozen meal or a turkey sandwich (light bread, low fat cheese, mustard) veggies, and grapes or applesauce
dinner:
varies because i love to cook and change it up all the time, but its usually some combination of a lean protein or vegetarian soy thing, lots of veggies, and a whole-grain carb
i save myself 100-150 calories for dessert to curb the late night snacking.. usually a weight watchers ice cream or a vitamuffin
i try not to snack during the day because i realized that usually doesn't work for me and leads to grazing all day. but if i go to the gym i will have a snack of about 150 cal in the afternoon
