For all of us who are still in school and want to look good by the time we go back in the fall, here is the Slimmer by Beginning of School Year Challenge! The first day of school varies for everyone, but for me it's around August 24th, which is about 10 and a half weeks away.
Any other students there trying to slim up before the school year? I myself am going to be a sophomore in college and trying to get back to my high school weight by the end of the summer.
What about you guys? (Non-scale goals are, of course, also appreciated).
I'm in for this. My scenario is a bit different: I'm an online student so looks don't matter there! But my daughter is in elementary school where I am very involved and I'm tired of the kids in her class patting my belly and asking me if I've got a baby in there, lol. So, she starts school again September 4th and I'd really like to look a ton better when I take her back and start helping out around the school again.
I'm doing my internship and taking classes over the summer, but I'll still set a goal for fall. Hmmm... I want to keep counting calories in my food journal and exercise at least 315 minutes/week. Fall quarter starts in mid-late September for me.
I am a nursing student and I would love for my scrubs to fit looser!! Actually, my next rotation is psych and we don't wear scrubs for that, but it would feel so good to walk into the classroom with people I haven't seen for 3 months and be slimmer. We also start at the end of August.
I am hoping to have a somewhat dramatic weight loss before I return to school in August! I just finished my first year of law school and law school is a small environment where I see the same people 5 days a week. I can't wait to go back in August thinner and more confident.
I'm doing it the right way--caloric deficits and cardio/strength training, so it's not like I'm doing some crazy diet. I'm hoping to also get a Go Wear Fit sensor in a week or too. I've been reading lots of reviews and talking to users of it. I love gadgets and numbers, so it'll make weight loss even that much more exciting!
cupcakesundae, that's kind of funny in a way. Hopefully by September no one will be patting your belly anymore! teresab, that's kind of why I'm excited. People who see you everyday won't really notice your weight loss so much, but I'm thinking people who haven't seen me for a few months might! And conversely, when I get back for Christmas, maybe my family will notice! elle w 19, good luck looking fantastic for law school. We can do it!!!!!!!
i'm in too! i am a senior and when i go back this fall (august 18) it will actually be my last semester as i will be graduating dec 18! i have set a personal goal for myself to lose 20 lbs by aug 1, so maybe i could make my back-to-
school goal 25 lbs (i've already lost 5 yay!) i would love to start my last semester thinner, less self concious and more confident, especially since i will be job hunting!

I'm in! I'm an old lady in school (32 ) but it starts back for me on well, crap I can't remember right now but I know it's the end of August. I'll shoot for my date by August 31st.
Regardless, my goal for this challenge is to lose 16.5 lbs putting me at 149.
edited to add: thank goodness for you posting this. I went and checked my schools website and totally did not realize that registration for fall starts Monday. Had I not looked I may have missed out on a class that I need
I'm in! I go back to college on August 24, and I would like to be out of the 150s by then and firmly in the 140s, so I'll go with 147, a loss of 11 pounds. Of course, I'd be happy with 149, too, just as long as I'm not in the 150s anymore!
I definitely would love to join this challenge! Today was my last day of school, so its the PERFECT time to join such a challenge as this. I go back to school on September 8th, so thats a 12 week summer break.
At the moment I am 152lbs, and I would love to be 135lbs by the beginning of next semester. So thats 18lbs in 12 weeks. Put it that way, it does sound reasonable (and healthy), don't you think? Thats a loss of 1.5lbs per week.
I'm in i start university (interpretation=college in U.S i think ) on October the 3rd and i want to be somewhere between 156 and 147 when i go!!! Don't want to be the fat girl in halls haha.
