Lightbulb Berry Blast Smoothie

Berry Blash Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 c 1% or skim milk
1 c plain non-fat yogurt
1/2 c blueberries
1/2 c frozen strawberries (or raspberries)
1/4 c Splenda (or sweetner or your choice-adjust for sweetness though)
1 c crushed or cubed ice

Place milk in blender. Add remaining ingredients. Pulse. Add ice and blend at high speed until smooth. Makes Two servings

Per serving:
Calories: 150 Fat: 2.5 grams (saturated 1.5-if using 1%)
Carbs: 23 grams (sugar 18-from fruit) Fiber: 2 grams
Protein: 9 grams Sodium: 145 milligrams

This is very thick and rich tasting. I followed this recipe as is but for those who wish to use a different source of "sweetner", I would taste before adding too much!

Portions are generous sized. One filled me up for breakfast.

I was thinking that you could add unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract and a frozen banana (one fruit has to be frozen for this). It could taste "sinful".

P.S. This is from one of my favorite cookbooks "Unbelievable Desserts w Splenda" by Marilyn Koch. (You rock, Marilyn!)
