Default Has anyone used stevia instead of splenda?

Hello.... I am new to south beach diet. I started about 10 days ago and have lots a ridiculous amount of weight (7 lbs).
Quick question, I want to try some of your recipes... has anyone used stevia for baking muffins instead of splenda? what's the result? I have been having splenda in my coffee since started the diet, but I am not comfortable with having this chemical. Thanks!

Stevia is a popular choice for many here. Personally I use fruit or honey for sweetners for baking. I try to use natural sweeteners. I know they say stevia is natural, but I am skeptic of "new" natural stuff.

I have substituted stevia for splenda. I do not use splenda at all. I just cut down as you do not need as much stevia in the receipe.

Thanks I will try that! I thought sugar wasn't allowed.... but I guess to have it every now and then shouldn't be so bad?

Please post CarlaVeg if it works for you and you don't have any adverse affects! Unfortunately, a lot of the sugar substitutes like splenda make me very sick to my stomach.

I use Stevia in baking. Uses a lot less than other sweeteners and doesn't mess with my bowels. :-) I'm a fan.
