Inner thighs, yikes. (pics, tmi)
I just now realized this is in the maintainers area. My bad. Can someone move it?
I still have 23lb left to lose, but take a look at my thighs. Think they'll get any better? I actually LIKE my legs, but my thighs are...ugh. Not so bad when I'm standing in my skivvies, or walking, but if I try to run, or even open my stance and wiggle my legs........it's not pretty.

Any advice? I dry brush every day (people say it's supposed to help- don't know if I believe it but it makes my skin soft, so I do it anyway), drink lots of water, use cocoa butter a lot. I know I won't ever have nice thighs, but I hope I can take a bit of that off in the future.
Is there an easier way to do lunges? I cannot get back up after I do them I'm trying, though, and I'm doing squats and a few other exercises I hear are good for them, along with my regular work out and cc. I realize that is an unnatural position and hardly anyone will ever see me in it, but just knowing my thighs look like that gets me down.

It'll get better over time. You can help it along by doing lower body weight lifting (heavy...you will want to GAIN muscle there). That will reshape your thighs and will help tighten the skin up!
P.S. I'll be 44 next week...am a mother of 2 AND a grandma of 2...I know a little something something about loose skin and TIMEEEE!

I agree with what joyfulloser said. Weight lifting has helped my legs tremendously, and I had HUGE legs and was much more overweight than you at my start weight. I thought I would never have smaller legs, but slowly and surely, I've wittled them away. You have beautiful skin, by the way. It sounds as though you are doing everything right as far as lotions and creams. Keep that up too. I do that every day as well.
They will get better. Do you belong to a gym? There is a treadclimber machine at our gym, an EFX or something like that. It has been a lifesaver for me. It has totally reshaped my legs. No kidding.
Best of luck to you. I truly do think they will get better. I've seen a big change in my trouble spots in just the last 10 lbs. Keep going girl! Good job so far.

YES
It will get better. I have seen amazing improvements in my own legs over the last 20 pounds. I agree with Joyful and the others, lifting heavy does wonders. Personally I hate it so I stick to running and the stariclimber machine but the overarching thread is exercise. Even if it is just stretching it will help. Good luck on the last 20!

I'm glad to hear that, and thank you all. I was just looking in the mirror yesterday and struck with a sudden horror. Stomach flab I can stand. But my legs? For some reason that bothers me even more. Can you define lifting heavy? You mean like squats, but with a weight? Or am I misunderstanding?
Also I did quite a few thigh exercises yesterday, and I feel it really high up. Did I do them wrong? They're like near the sockets, not so much my thigh?

I can relate. My inner thighs remind me of saggy elephant skin! It's amazing how we can lose so much weight, but the left over saggy skin causes us just as much unhappiness as the extra weight to begin with! Somehow, we allow it to undermine all of our hard efforts. I do it all the time with my flabby belly, saddlebags and fleshy inner thighs. They are hard to accept, but I have to admit, that I'm so much better off now than I was when I was 230lbs. Keep working at it and always love yourself.

There's a thread on the 3fC forum called "resistance training." They are the heavy lifters. I participate there, and I promise you that the women are really friendly and helpful. You might read some of their posts.
But, squats are THE exercise. Look up Dynamic Studios squat and see what you find. There is also a great exercise site called stumptuous.com

Thank you, I'll run over and find a few threads, probably bookmark them for later reading too.

Yeah, I know I'm better off now than I was back then. And I know I'll be better off when I finally get to my goal weight than I ever was. I guess it's just something I need to accept but also make effort to change, just in case.

Our legs could be sisters. I am fine with every other stinkin' part of my body except for my thighs. They drive me ca-razy! This is the summer that I do something about it. And thanks for posting a pic -- I thought I was the only one who held my leg out and let the skin fall so I could check it out!

You can't tone fat. Getting rid of most of that is going to require more weight loss.

Me too! My upper torso is toning nicely as are my calves and ankles. But my upper thighs look like elephant skin also and I am gonna have quite the sagging abdomen when I get to goal.
I think I would rather have this problem than be fat.

Unfortunately my thighs do the same thing too. I always thought it was from losing and gaining alot so many times.
You should see my belly. At one point I was down to about 130 pounds and was doing yoga at a gym, I was comfortable there and just had on shorts and a sports bra, feeling great about being able to do that. UNTIL I happened to look over at the mirrored wall while I was in plank position. I was so mortified I actually left during the middle of the class and have never exercised in front of another human being (or mirror) since.
In plank you're in a pushup type position on the floor. I looked over and saw a HUGE flap of my tummy skin hanging down, it was so disgusting. I had no idea it was that bad and that position just exacerbated the issue.
Now I am constantly aware of what might be jiggling around looking gross when I'm moving or changing positions, which probably just makes me look constipated or something lol. I can't imagine what my hubby thinks when we do the deed! This is not even mentioning my stretch marks. My entire stomach area looks like a road map printed on jello.
Still, I'd rather be thin with this problem than fat and filled out. I think I am beyond salvaging this with exercise just because I've done so much damage, but I wouldn't consider surgery to remove it either-I'd just be trading flappy skin for scars and would still be self-conscious.

I am glad you started this thread because my thighs look awful as well. BUt I ain't posting pictures cause I don't want people to see them. All of my bathing suits have skirts for that very reason. lol But hopefully with a little strength training they'll look passable.

I'm also noticing some dimpling around the bottom of my stomach...I anticipate some saggage...but...hey, better than being obese I guess.
