Default I have my appointment with the plastic surgeon on Wednesday...

I am quickly getting closer and closer to my goal weight (160) and Wednesday I have my consultation with a plastic surgeon. I am having him evaluate my belly and hips for removal of excess skin and muscle repair...and possibly have him give me quotes for a few other procedures if I am a good candidate.

Any pep talks? I'm a little nervous!!!!!!

Well isn't it recommended to wait one year from reaching goal to get excess skin removed so your skin has time to tighten up on it's own?

Don't get me wrong I definitey plan on getting skin removal surgery if I need it (and a breakst lift) but I'd make sure your surgeon knows you are still losing weight and if he shrugs it off I'd be second guessing him!

Don't want to rain on your parade- just want to keep you informed- good luck!

Beerab-my weight loss has been very slow...over the past 4 years. It hasn't been a really quick weight loss.

Most of the damage that has been done to my tummy was actually done by my three pregnancies...not being overweight so much. (I always carry most of my weight when heavy through my lower body and upper arms...not in my middle.) I had three very large babies (all around 10 pounds) , and some pretty bad muscle separation...my kids are now 4-12 years old...that skin and muscle won't go back.

I am 15 pounds from goal currently...but after a very long plateau the loss has recently sped up again. This week is my consultation, but my actual surgery won't be for a few weeks or so I would imagine from now, at least, depending on his schedule.

He is well aware that I am 15 from goal...he is also well aware that I have special needs as far as scar placement, due to being a performer. (Scar must be able to be hidden completely.)

By the way-Nice to meet you! I am a long time 3FC member...I was a moderator here from 2002-2009!

Thats my goal also! I had a free consult and the doc just said that I should be within 10 or so pounds of my goal weight for optimum results. I plan on tummy tuck, lipo and a breast lift.

I am going for the tummy tuck first...and I might end up possibly getting a mini arm lift and my breasts done (I have went from a 40DD to a 36D) in the future. The tummy will happen first, however...

Duh I should have looked at the sidebar lol! Sorry I've just seem some crappy surgeons *shudder*

My loss has been slow too so I feel ya!

I hope the appointment goes well! I told hubby that skin removal and a breast lift is going to be part of my gift to myself when I get to goal! But probably not until after I'm done having kids (haven't started yet).

Nice meeting you too
