Nelie's right, I had a lower body lift in 2003 and posted about my experiences here
. I'm still completely thrilled with my results and the scars are really faded at this point. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Like Nelie, I carried most of my weight on my butt and hips, so a tummy tuck by itself wouldn't really have dealt with the problem of all the excess skin on those areas. I lost 22" from my hips, which left 22" of folded up, wrinkled skin that just sagged from my butt. So a lower body lift was the only way to get rid of it.
One thing you should know, though -- a lower body lift doesn't deal with the problem of excess skin on your thighs. A thigh lift would be necessary to get rid of that skin. When you've reached your goal weight, visit a plastic surgeon for a consultation and he or she can tell you what results you could expect from different procedures.
