I just want scream "It's not fair!"
I really try to accept my new body for what it is and know that no one has the perfect body. I tell myself that the saggy skin is nothing compared to the misery I was in when I was heavy. But then I come across articles like this one and I just want to scream "It's not fair." This girl lost 122 lbs and she looks like she was never over weight for one second. Not one stretch mark, not a stitch of saggy skin. The article doesn't mention any surgery and there doesnt appear to be a lot of air brushing. She is however only 22 and had a slightly lower start weight than I did, but how is this possible?

I would say it's definitely the fact that she is only 22 and still has very resilient skin. Also, probably never had a baby. I'd also be willing to bet that there is a lot of airbrushing.

Yeah, the baby thing occurred to me this morning. I also gained a lot of the weight back with my pregnancy and I was overweight for about 10 year. I still want to have a big hissy fit about it though! Poor me
ETA: Oh and those piercings in her belly just make me feel old! When I was in my 20s it was all about bell button rings, when did we start piercing our bellies?

Yeah, I definitely won't be looking like that. And I'm 25, no baby. From her before picture, I'm inclined to say she carries her weight well. I look bigger than that now with just 80lbs to go. I looked much bigger when I had 122 to go

I had to click most of the way through those, before I understood the next sequence is "celebrities". Shows you how out of tune I've become with Hollywood.

That first woman in the story looks great. Her body does look remarkably tight--but I suspect some airbrushing. I also don't think she's come through it completely unscathed; she is a very mature-looking 22. Without knowing her actual age and just looking at her face, I would've pegged her at around 32--a beautiful and vibrant 32, but 32 just the same.

I suspect alot of body makeup and loads of airbrushing. Those magazines and celebrities in general are so unrealistic. Here in the real world, we have stretch marks and saggy skin. In that world, they have plastic surgery and airbrushing. Am I jealous? Sometimes. But then I remind myself that I, and I'm including my 3fcs here, look good when compared to my peers. As long as my clothes are on, I look smokin'...

Ok seriously, reality check here! You CANT compare yourself to a single other person....much less someone who for all practical purposes is fictional!!
I mean that girl could be a model, it could be a fake story, it could be a real story with a pic of a different girl. People is a tabloid for goodness sake.
And frankly, life is never ever fair and that is an absurd expectation to have. Life is what you make it. If you want your skin to improve (as compared to how YOUR skin looks now, not how anyone else's skin looks) - work on it.
Drink more water, eat more antioxidants and omega3s, get a humidifier, tone those muscles because man that has mad a big difference in my loose skin and have some patience over the next weeks/months/years.
I know you are just venting a little, and we have moments where we feel a little whiney - but cmon, you are awesome and amazing and have a great body and beautiful kid(s?)...that isnt about being fair...that is a good life and one you can improve if you want.

Not everyone is in a position--physically, psychologically, financially, medically--to get plastic surgery. Many people who are in such a position decide they don't want it, choosing slackness over scars.
Besides, surgery's serious stuff. I can completely understand people with kids not wanting to undergo procedures that'll keep them from being active in their kids' lives for a time (not to mention that surgery's entails risks that parents of younger kids may choose not to take).

you need to take another look at that first picture. She has a ton of stretch marks. She's obviously had a tummy tuck.

definitely well said!! i agree with you 100% i've learned to not even think twice about the ads and things i see on tv or online because i KNOW how easy it is to airbrush things to give people this false ideal of what a "beautiful body" should look like, that they will never achieve because the image they're seeing isn't even real.
www youtube com/user/diethealth#p/search/6/DS6vyTTTfgc
(i've tried to include a link but i dont know if it will show up!)-this is a video from an exercise channel on youtube that i watch to get tips from regularly. the girl is clearly fit, but after photoshopping her image, her real self which was fit and beautiful before, now only pales in comparison to the "retouched" photo that is a false image.
to the lady that started this post, ncuneo, you've obviously worked VERY hard to get to where you are and lose the weight that you have. Thats amazing, i hope that someday i can have such numbers to post of my weightloss, you should be truly proud of your incredible hard work and embrace your new body image!

I agree...she didn't go unscathed...she looks old for her age, she DOES have stretchmarks, and she's 22 with resiliant skin.
That said, as a former bodybuilder and mother of 2, anyone can tighten up that saggy skin, lift those saggy boobs (ya...drawback of weight loss...ugggh!), and firm that buttocks! It just takes time, heavy weight, progressive and serious weight training and a clean diet.
Hang in there....you should be proud Nunc...you look fab!!!

Meh-Don't waste your time worrying about it. It might not be fair, but life isn't guaranteed to be fair.
