I buy some shirts and dresses because I'm close enough that they'll still fit down the road. I don't buy pants unless I absolutely have to - as in, I have nothing to cover me because it's all falling down my butt.

Once or twice a month I go to the Salvation Army. Every week they have certain clothes half off.

I look for the new clothes that still have the tags attached.
I have to lose a LOT more weight. I have 3 sizes smaller to go through yet.
So those are the sizes I buy.
I have so many gorgeous clothes now sorted to size, and packed away in boxes. Having these nice clothes is a great motivation to stay on plan.

And inexpensive. The clothes run around $2.50 for each piece!

Another plus. I get colder now with my extra padding gone. So I am going to buy Down quilts and down jackets and vests when the winter linens are set out in late fall.

I love TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I pick up a new top or pants every couple weeks or so. Nothing more than about $20 a trip. I find it's a good motivator to try to look good which keeps me doing good. Also, I get rid of anything that is even slightly too big in my closet, so I have no where to go but down. I call this "burning my 'britches' behind me"! ; )

I held off buying clothes because I am still about 10 pounds from goal but after being at the same weight most of the year I said screw it and started buying some stuff. I have been doing what most of the OP are doing - Marshall's, clearance at Old Navy, Ross (though unfortunately there aren't any in OH, that place rocks!), Gabriel Brothers (pretty much like Ross).

I just discovered an amazing thrift store a few blocks from my work. They are a non-profit that benefits a program to help low income women dress for interviews. Any of the surplus or non-interview appropriate stuff goes to the store. Yesterday I got two super cute Ann Taylor skirts for $9!
