I had my reduction done in Dec 2004 when I was 35. I talked to several surgeons but in the end went with the one recommended by my primary care doctor; he said he had sent several women to her. Funny thing is she was totally the opposite of warm and fuzzy in terms of personality so that's not why I chose her. I just kind of trusted her more. She also had a LOT of experience doing reductions -- that's something to ask any doctor you're considering. Don't go to someone that just does a few per year -- if they're good they'll be doing them every WEEK.
I still have pink raised "smiley" scars under my breasts, but I knew I had a tendency to scar in that way, so I'm not bothered by it. But that's something to keep in mind if that would upset you. (They are hypertrophic scars, which some people are susceptible to especially on their chests and stomachs -- I had childhood chickenpox scars in those areas that always remained raised so that is the kind of sign to look for.)
I would still do it again in a minute -- and would have done it much sooner if I'd known!
