I make a hobby of having different scrubs. I try very hard to not be twinsies with anyone at work. However ... I found some really cute ones and a couple of girls had me get them a set too.
K was walking down the hall the other day ... same size, same colour. Woow! She's about a handbreadth across and four inches thick! And her pants look tighter than mine feel.
I think I need a video camera!

There's a poster in that bikini bodies thread ... I think it's goinforthegold?
You should check her avatar! That is her back! Who knew?! Not her. It's lovely!

I'm meant to have a good figure apparently, with large but not excessive breasts, slim hips, small waist, but you'd never catch me looking in the mirror and smiling..EW is main thought. EW.

i can feel the fat right now sitting here when I think about it, and I don't even have to touch it! I'm a size 6 in US sizes so I can't be that flabby, i give up, its a head...f..game.

Whenever I see myself in the mirror I always feel like my body isn't normal. Even before the weight gain I always felt that my body was foreign and not as it should be. I never really got acquainted with my body/body image as I should have. I still feel like my body is alien, and I have no idea how I will feel when I lose the weight. :-/ It's weird.

I'd have to agree with a lot of you here saying that there are days where you can really see the difference and others where you still see the funhouse mirror. Ridiculous isn't it? You would think that to satisfy sanity, our minds would just give up the obsession with what we used to be and be happy with where we are or where we're going.

I think a common positive reinforcement out there would be to ensure that we're strong along with the fact that we've lost weight. Having the two partnered up means that there's likely an overall sense of well-being and to see muscle definition along with a thin tummy/small buttocks/small arms will accentuate how far we've come.

...... I do believe i'm convincing myself as I write this. positive reinforcement all the way.

If anything my weight loss has made me feel worse. I have lost about 40lbs and all I can think is "man if I am still this fat, imagine how fat I was 40lbs ago!"

I go to the store and by size 8 pants, and think they must be mislabeled. I don't feel fabulous, thin, healthy. I feel ridiculous. I am getting married in 6 months and keep putting off taking engagement photos because I still can not stand how I look in pictures.

I think I have serious body image issues, but I thought the weight loss would help!

Our weight is one thing, our mind is quite another.

When I look in the mirror.. I STILL see the same sized person 33 pounds ago.. I know my clothes are smaller.. but I look the freaking same! I hate it.. why can't our minds change with our bodies???

I don't see the true "Me" in the mirror most of the time. The only way for me to accept that I am not fat anymore and see me as slim, is to have pictures of me taken whenever the opportunity is there. It really helps! Pictures have shown me how I truly look, and helps me accept my success!

I attended a family reunion this past weekend and my sister was there. We have different body types but have always been about the same size. We did a skit with a sister-in-law and when I saw the video of it I was surprised. I thought I was still the same size as my sister but I was closer to the size of my skinnier sister-in-law. It made me feel better about myself to see my size in comparison to people around me.

maalisse, i found this post (and 3FC) by googling about this exact problem. i lost 45 lbs over about 5 months, and have now been maintaining for 3.5 months. however, even though i get compliments a lot, i still feel like i have a huge stomach, and like i should lose more weight.

i visited two different doctors to try to get an answer on what a good weight would be for me, with my frame and health issues etc, and one was like "oh, you've been overweight all your life, so overweight is a natural weight for you" - unhelpful, i'm already at ~50th percentile now, thanks. the other was like "if you stayed your current weight for the rest of your life, that would be fine, medically speaking."

i wish someone would just tell me what my goal should be! originally it was 150, but now that i'm almost at 140, and still feel fat, i'm not sure if i should set it lower or just work on adjusting my attitude. :P

sorry for the rambling, it's late.

Welcome Olimina and congratulations on your weight loss!

Since it's not apparent that you need to lose more at this point, maybe you could focus on fitness goals. Even without losing any more weight, you will probably be happier with your body if you start seeing some muscles develop. Personally, I think fitness does a lot for appearance. Good luck!
