Default On the bodyfat numbers and dehydration

On the "Matt + Suzy" thread, one of our Iowa members posted a link to an article from a local newspaper about Matt - which you can find linked here.

Remember we were discussing the possibility of the contestants dehydrating themselves (as I'm sure that Ryan did last year) in order to have a lower scale weight...well according to this article apparently NBC and the show's producers were concerned about that as well:

Quote:
During the 'homestretch', Hoover had to check in with "The Biggest Loser" a few times per week and turn in a spreadsheet with his weight and diet statistics, which no one else was allowed to view. He concentrated on working out and worried about what the other two finalists were doing. According to Carla [Matt's best friend's wife], Hoover weighed himself regularly, but had no idea what Suzy and Seth weighed; therefore, that 'unknown' kept Hoover focused on the end result.
The Sunday before the "The Biggest Loser" finale, Hoover returned to the show and had his final weigh-in, blood tests (to check for any illegal chemical usage) and hydration tests [according to Carla, the first season's winner was severely dehydrated upon final weigh-in requiring the new test be implemented in season two].
"After Matt's final weigh-in Sunday night, he had a huge meal... he was starving," Carla laughs. "The show preprogrammed Tuesday night's weights for Suzy, Seth and Matt based on Sunday's weights. The show knew who had already won on Sunday night."
Also want to add that I think that bodyfat % of 2.8% for Matt is probably way off...
