Oh, and the 1200 calorie thing...

I've gotten it down pretty well without feeling the hunger. The key is to eat foods with lots of protein in them, and eat 5 times per day (at least for me that was the key).

typical day for me consists of:

B: Toast w/ peanut butter
S: handful of nuts
L: Turkey sandwich with grapes or other fruit
S: yogurt
D: chicken breast, green veggie, salad, oven baked potato slices

most of the stuff I buy is low cal though..if it weren't I'm sure I would be well over 1200!

Hey Echo it's Monte (Antonia's) birthday today.
You are at 1200 what? 1200 calories as your BMR? or eating 1200 calories? These contestants in the beginning are looking for a burn of 6000 on their bodybuggs so it is 1200 in an 6000 out. But the 6000 out is based on a bmr + exercise.

And yes in the real world for 10 lbs is not normal but the more you weigh the faster you can lose in the beginning because being hevier you burn mor calories just to "be" you.

My BMR is 1593.1, so if I want to lose 2 pounds a week I need to burn another 4249 calories from exercise a week. And as I have gotten smaller it has become harded to lose. I had been at 1800 -2000 in calories consumed a day when I first started but I am a lot lot lot smaller now. LOL which is a great thing, just harder getting the last pounds off.

It probably helps that all contestants are under medical supervision. If they have some sort of injury, it can be monitored and treated properly.

They probably have things in place to help the contestants adjust to the ranch. Plus, there's always the support network that they form amongst themselves.

I don't think that each contestant has the same calories in / calories out plan. Someone like Rudy will probably need more than someone like Liz.
