I KNOW you've had an um "exciting" year at work! For some reason they never told me in school that in your 3rd year of work your "busy season" is ALL YEAR LONG!! It's just worse in the 1st quarter!
Glad you're on blue this time .
LOL sounds just like college!
Thanks! I'm happy to be on the blue team this season!! I was on the black team my 1st challenge and the red team the 2nd and 3rd challenge. I'm sharin' the love to the team colors!! I love me some Bob and considering I have Mini-Bob training me at boot camp, I am happy to be on the Blue Team!
This is my first BL Challenge, and I have been counting calories since September with some success. I would like to begin a more structured plan and see if I have any further success because my weight loss has slowed down. I'm going to try SB, I just prepared my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow.
About 9 years ago, I gained a lot of weight very quickly when I gave up my active lifestyle for a demanding job. My weight has fluctuated up and down since then, mostly up and up until recently.
I love sports and fitness, have worked part time as a personal trainer, and still maintain my certification in case I ever have time to go back to it. I also trained in karate. I'm married to an incredible athlete who thinks biking 100 miles or a 10 mile run is just weekend training. It gets annoying sometimes, he never struggles with it. No kids, 1 dog.
OP for me means avoiding booze and not bingeing on chocolate and champagne, my two biggest weaknesses. I love hot yoga, strength training, walking my dog, running, DVDs, pretty much anything actually.
Ok, I'm done now and that was my longest post ever! I can't wait for us to rock this challenge!
i'm brie, i'm 25 and i'm a full time student. i also got hired to work on call for harrah's casino and i start training for that this week. i will graduate with my degree in sports management in may and i hope to walk across the stage at goal.
OP for me means making healthy balanced choices everyday. if i want a cheeseburger fine but the rest of the day/week i need to eat lighter or exercise more. i know that i need to allow myself to not feel restricted in order to succeed and truly it has helped. most of the time i dont want the bad stuff cause i feel so good eating healthy. also Op means working out 6 days a week at least an hour a day. my body responds to exercise very well and i have to do this to keep my body guessing.
i weigh in on sundays so i already weighed in for this week and am down a bit. i cant wait to see whats going on with all the veteran blue teamers as well as the newbies!
I'm back off the treadmill for 30minutes and the few push ups I could muster up! Just checking in to see who else in on what I am referring at home as the MAGNIFICENT Blue Team~
Andi - Practice - Fauxtini ~ I am all over the ring thing. I about fell over when BF dared me. Now that he's checked out prices... yah, he wants to renegotiate. NO DEAL! I'm gonna get a shirt - kinda like a "my biggest loser shirt says" shirt that reads.... TO WEAR KARATS NOT EAT CARROTS.
Faux.... I love the new camera idea. I am desperate for a new digital, like the new one that Ashton Kutcher is promoting Nikon D90. A little rich for my wallet, but man.... I would love it. Good luck getting yours!
Djay and Dumplin (and other's I know I'm missing) Ladies like you set the bar for what we women can accomplish! Your weight loss is inspiring! I cant wait to say I've lost even 20lbs! Keep up the good work.
Finally... Inkle and Sophia ~ write me down on the "boredom eater" list. But I have been extra aware about stopping it in 2009!
Okay girls.. off to change laundry, shower, and plan my meals for the week. Keep the thread HOT!

I love yoga but I did not enjoy hot yoga one teeny bit. Granted I went on a summer day where the outdoor temp was about 103 and I didn't realize I was going to hot yoga . Does it get easier with time to deal with the heat or is it always the "omg I'm going to die of dehydration" feeling?
Nix: I know! I want the Nikon D90 too! hehe But that more than likely won't be happening... unless DH can use his internet skill sto find some amazingly priced one.. lol
Im SOO Excited! On eof my best friends from home coming to visit me!!! Im soo happy! im stuck here in the US because of my visa status and can't go to Canada(where Im from) While Dh is away... and finally one of my friends from Canada can come visit me! sigh.. a littletaste of home is just what I need
hey blue!! Good to see the familiar faces and looking forward to meeting the new faces!
I turned 48 in December, married 4 1/2 years with 2 adult step-kids. DH and I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh. I lost 7 lbs with the last challenge and then promptly gained it all back plus some between T-Day and NY's Eve.
I've been back OP since NY's Day and the scale is moving in the right direction. OP to me means tracking food at The Daily Plate, stay away from alcohol, except maybe one weekend evening per week, lots of water, etc.
I love to workout (food has always been my issue). I have a nice selection of workout DVDs (cardio, strength training, yoga), belong to the Y and take 3 Zumba classes a week. I start teaching 2 yoga classes a week beginning next week. I'll also start volunteering at a girls home in the area teaching them yoga once a week (age 9 - 18) sometime mid-month.
DH and I are planning a trip to Turks & Caicos in late February (although there's a chance we may have to cancel...we'll know more later this month). My sister is getting married later this year and I'm in the wedding. Dress requirement from her is only that the dress be black - I want to buy a great black cocktail dress.
I'm Rhonda and this is my 4th challenge. I've never really accomplished much on the challenges other than maintaining a 30 pound loss from over a year ago, but that's all about to change. I'm so excited to be sharing this trip with my Bluesers. As I shared early on in this thread, I turn 45 in July and I fully intend on turning my life around this year. No more standing on the sidelines watching everyone else live! In addition to losing the weight, I have goals of running 5 miles again and hiking the beautiful trails in my area.
When I'm on-plan, I tend to go back to my Southbeach roots and avoid all added sugar and processed foods. However, I do enjoy my potatoes and corn. I've also added calorie counting and I use Jillian's plan of flexing my daily totals. Exercise is my achilles heel and I may need a good kick every once in a while. The plan is to get back onto the C25K wagon and get back to the fitness center 2-3 times a week for weight training.
Hope you are having a relaxing evening. I'll touch base again tomorrow.
Hey everyone- I'm Emily and I think this is my 4th challenge as well (Rhonda, I've noticed we have TONS in common!) The past couple of years I've been yo-yo-ing between 205-235...right now I'm at 234. My highest non-pregnancy weight is 242 so I'm pretty close to that and NOT wanting to be! I'm trying to get in touch with my inner me and figure out why I self sabotage.
I turn 40 in June and am going to Europe in July...all sorts of motivation. Hopefully I can find the committment to go with it! I really do look forward to getting to know all of you and wish success for us all!!
Good evening ladies! (Do we have any men this round?)
Well I went bridal gown shopping with my mum last week, and now I have a handy set of motivation pictures and, hopefully, "before" pictures! They're up on my Flickr page if you want to have a look. Weight loss or not, I have GOT to start working on my arms... pushups and bicep curls, here I come!

This is such a familiar story! For me, it was switching from my active high school life to my sedentary, boozing university life. Now that university is over, the boozing and sitting on my butt is cut back, but the weight is still here!

Hello height/weight twin! Sounds like we have a similar approach to weight loss too - don't restrict too much, and get movin'!

Hahaha I told my fiance about this and he about killed himself laughing! He was also pretty quick to say we weren't making a deal like that.

Rhonda, we're so excited to share it with you too! I hope that this challenge is the best one yet for both of us.
This is my 2nd 3FC BL challenge! I missed the last one because I didn't sign up correctly. I'm glad I did it right this time!
I live in the San Francisco Bay area with my husband and dog, Puppy Wuppy. Our oldest son is 28 and he just became engaged to his girlfriend (of 8 1/2 years) on Dec. 26th on a trip to Paris. Our youngest son is 26. They both live in the SF Bay Area. The younger one is looking for a young lady to date, so if you know of anyone looking for a nice young man to date, let me know!
Our oldest son and his fiance are tentatively planning their wedding for October, which gives me ample time to get to my goal weight of 135 and be in great shape by then. It also gives me a great motivation.
I basically follow Weight Watchers and South Beach (kind of a combo of them both) and I enjoy Leslie Sansone workout DVD's as well as Turbo Jam and 30 Day Shred. I do enjoy getting out to walk the dog in the early evenings. I want to start incorporating weight training because I really need to build up my muscles...I have too much body fat!!!
I enjoyed reading what everyone has posted so far and I look forward to getting to know everyone. I wish everyone the best for achieving their goals for this BL!
