Good Afternoon Red team!!

Lonnie...what a fantastic post!! Thanks!

Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts and prayers for our family. More drama erupted last night...I swear, why cant people just learn to let things go?

Okay so the doctor today. I got a complete workover. Full fasting bloodwork and an ultrasound of my girl parts. The ultrasound tech is not supposed to say anything but she said my ovaries looked like classic PCOS. She showed me, and when I googled PCOS there is an ultrasound pic of a PCOS ovary and it looked exactly like mine. But...nothing is official until the doc reads the ultrasound. So I'm not really even sure what that means, but I do know its the beginning of the answers to my weight issues. If that is the diagnosis I feel a bit relieved and I can stop beating myself up about not being able to lose weight. I honestly havent given much of an effort for weeks now but its because I'm so frustrated I figure what the heck is the point. So while its not ideal...its at least a good start for me.

I was also referred to a weightloss specialist who specializes in metabolic syndrome...ever heard of that? The doc is suspicious I may have that as well...or instead of PCOS. I got my thyroid tested too. Its just a wait game now till all the results come in....what a relief to have it done and darn it why didnt I do it sooner!!

Okay I'm roasting! My family always "forgets" to turn on the a/c during the day so when I get home its roasting in here! In an effort to save gas since its only 5 minutes from my work I tend to not turn on the a/c in my car on the way home either so WHEW!! SAUNA!!

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Lonnie- thanks for sharing that. I've seen it before and love it. I am happy to see it again, sometimes, I don't always remember how true that is.

Melissa- I really hope they get everything figured out so that you can get it fixed hopefully.

Thanks girls for the welcome back! It means a lot! I know I can make this goal, I just have to put effort into it and that is something that has been lacking lately. I have a goal now though with my friend's wedding and I always seem to do better when I have a goal.

I was speaking with one of my friends from work and she has been doing WW @ Work and has been losing like crazy and NOT working out. This session is ending in 2 weeks and I'll be signing up for the next session. I'm hoping it starts soon after the current one ends.

The cruise is not until January 3rd so I do have some time. 7 day Western Caribbean cruise January 3-10, 2009 with the focus being on showing that there CAN be a balance between having FUN and getting (or staying) fit. If I keep my job and get all of the bonus' that I should qualify for, it should be definitely be in the budget.

I will let you all know when the page is back up...it's getting there. I'm going to have to make a commitment to updating it every other day or weekly.

Melissa, I hope you hear some news soon. You are in my thoughts.

BTW - dang you guys for getting me into Plurk!

"I believe -
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel."

I really like that one - it's one of the core tenets of my life. I am responsible for me and all of my actions, no matter what happens that I cannot control. Thanks Lonnie! (anyone else notice that Lonnie and Roni rhyme? Or is that just suddenly striking to me because it's not yet 5am and I'm yet again already out of bed....)

I added Andi on plurk as my buddy! Did I miss anyone? I'm the same name over there - I don't always make it there everyday, especially with the current internet crackdown at work but I do like reading what everyone is doing.

And, note to self, and possible to other people -- if you're going to do your pushup challenge (week 4, day 3 - 125 pushups total) and your c25k challenge (week 5, day 2 - jog 8 minute, walk 5, jog 8) all on the same morning -- YOU WILL BE SORE. VERY, VERY sore. I am sometimes not terribly bright!

WOW Kelly!!! Way to kick some butt!!! Excellent job!!!

Andi...you've got the drive and focus girl!! I have no doubts you can reach those upcoming goals. *snicker* at your plurk addiction! LOL!

Its jean friday and starbucks friday all rolled into one!! Yesterday I skipped the coffee and got some make your own sugarfree chai and took that to work instead, I was tired yesterday and only a slight caffeine headache but I think I'm going to move that direction...maybe only do my lovely cinnamon dolce latte on friday and do tea the rest of the week. I'm not sure why I'm giving myself such a hard time about my one coffee a day, maybe its just I dont like being a slave to anything and I feel like if I dont have my coffee in the morning the rest of the day is downhill!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Wow Kelly, you kicking some major butt! I am doing a week 2 push-up repeat and its still kicking my tale. I noticed the Lonnie/Roni thing back when we first started, hehe!

Mel, I hope you find out exactly what the deal is and then you can move on from there and start kicking some weight loss booty! I have recently discovered a "female" situation, although I am unsure as to what exactly it is, so I guess I have to make another dang appt. I've already gone for that exam this year, but I suppose this isn't something I can put off.

Well, I haven't lost anything thus far this week. WI for me isn't until Monday, so we'll see then, but so far this has been a maintaining week. So I guess that's not bad. I KNEW when I lost 3.1 last week that I may not have a loss this week. 3 lbs in a week is not the norm for me. I am usually lucky to lose 1. I have to remember that I am a slow loser, and some peeps seem to think that's better in the long run anyways...We'll see.

I am going to do my 3FC 5k today on the TM. I was going to run along the river tomorrow while Jess fished and snapped pics of me, but his plant has scheduled an inventory tomorrow, so he has to go to work. I guess the over time will be nice. I am not running along the river alone. It's very wooded and secluded and ya never know what or who lurks just around that bend or tree or what have you. I don't want to have to kill someone while I am trying to wog my 5k. LOL!

Anywho, gonna go have a look at Plurk before I get ready to sweat. Sniff sniff, my "female" stuff hurts today....

Lonnie - thanks for sharing that! I really enjoyed it.

Melissa - I'm glad that maybe you'll be getting some answers soon! I don't have PCOS or any other similar conditions that I know of. I have lurked around here a lot and know it can be very frustrating for those who are actively trying to lose weight. I hope it can give you come peace about struggling with the weight loss. If they can figure out what's wrong then that's a step in the right direction to get things fixed. That's one of my major pet peeves with those ignorant people who bad-mouth overweight people. Yes I know that I am overweight because of the things I put in my mouth and the time my arse spends glued to the couch, but that's not the case with everyone. You just never know who may be working their hiney off and not getting results due to medical problems, etc. (or even emotional pains for those like me who have not been on the weight loss journey consistently or at all for whatever reason.) Ok...not sure where that rant that is not directed at anyone here came from, but I think I'm done.

Andi - my sis is trying to get a 3 month gig to sing on cruise ships. Who knows - she may be your entertainment! She hates cold weather so I keep kidding her that she will probably end up going to Alaska most of the time! By the way, I seem to do better with a concrete shorter term goal, too!

Kelly - sorry you're sore but I bet it feels great to know how hard you've worked. I've giggled about the Lonnie/Roni rhyme thing too but I tend to be easily amused!

Roni - I'm so excited that you've found your fitness mojo lately! Keep us posted on your exercise and progress. It's very motivating. I am going to do my best to get back to the exercising!

Greetings from sunny "cool" California! Well.......it's cool to me! LOL It's alot better than my 113+ I get at home in AZ! Visiting my family for a few days before we go back to school, so I will be scarce thru next Tuesday.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and that I haven't gonne anywhere, just busy with family. I did my weigh in too and I'm down another pound. I am concerned however that I am going to gain this week, not only do I not have access to my beloved gym (the horror!) but my mom makes some of the most fiercest mexican dishes it would blow your mind! Portion control, portion control, portion control! Moderation!! I'm really going to try and exercise this knowledge and be conscious of all I'm eating, but I know that I ALWAYS gain when I'm home. Guess I'm gonna have to hit the gym really hard when I get home, eh?

So anyways, gotta go get DD's birthday decorations put up before my sister shows up with her kids! If I don't get back before the weekend, have a great one girls, lets make this last week of the challenge the best ever!!

Oh, Mel, so glad you went to the doc and now lets keep our fingers crossed there are some good answers for you!!! Andi, great to see you back, and I say definitely go for the cruise!!!!!!! It's YOUR time!! Everyone else, keep shining and stay strong and keep up the great work!!!

Good evening my fellow Red Teamers

I'm proud to announce that today is day 5 of me being 100% OP!!!!!!! Melissa is right when she said it gets easier. It's hard the first 2 or 3 days but then it becomes much easier because it's now a habit.

Roni~ CONGRATS to you for staying OP!!!!!! You've made an awesome come back ! You picked my favorite line from the "I Believe" post to put in your siggy . I hope everything is okay and you feel better soon

Melissa~ Let us know how your tests results are. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything comes back okay!

Andi~ The cruise sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I really hope you get to go!

Roni- congratulations on finishing your 5k. It's really good exercise. You ran it right? I can't run at all, only walk. I need to go walking more. I love walking outside, but I'm like you. I won't go if I don't feel safe.

Danielle- good job on losing 1 lb. Resisting that mexican food is going to be so hard. Portion control is a weakness for me with yummy foods. I hope you can get some exercise in though to offset the food. Just enjoy yourself and get right back on track when you get home.

Lonnie- congratulations on making it 5 days op. Good for you!

I did good staying op today. I even went to the gym after work. I sooo didn't want to. I had to talk myself into it. I'm just a little off today cuz Jared is sick, so he isn't sleeping well and is keeping me up at night. I hope he starts feeling better soon. I really hope he sleeps tonight.

Joyce here is my italian chicken recipe: I call it chicken spaghetti

1 to 1 1/2 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 yellow bell pepper, cut into strips
1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
1 lb box of spaghetti noodles, cooked
1 bottle of Just 2 Good Italian salad dressing (I dont think its called Just 2 good anymore though)

I marinate the chicken strips in about 1 cup of the dressing, then cook it. Cook the spaghetti. When the spaghetti is almost done I throw the peppers into the water so they cook, or you could add them to the chicken but I prefer the peppers to still be slightly crunchy, not soggy. After you drain the noodles/peppers, throw together the noodles, peppers and chicken strips and another cup of the italian dressing. I usually just use the rest of the bottle. Toss and eat!
