good morning everyone!
I overindulged a little last night but am happy to say that i can still call 168 my home for now, so i did log a 1lb loss for the team! (gotta change my ticker!)
I almost fell off the wagon hardcore last night, but just ended up having one too many drinks and a larger than usual dinner portion instead.
dbf and i were discussing the travesty that is the "McCafe" that has opened near our home, and it completely degenerated into a food porn conversation about how delicious (and we know it IS NOT but it sure sounded good last night) a double cheeseburger and fries sounded right about then -we'd already had a couple drinks - and i think we made plans to actually HAVE fast food for dinner tonight. eep! luckily, i am sure he will forget as it is wine and cheese night and i know that excites him more than mcdonalds.
he's not as much of a whole foods purist as i am, but i have been turning him off the junk and onto real food bit by bit and neither of us has set foot in a fast food place in at least 6 months, if not longer. I plan on keeping it that way.

anyway.. onto QofD...
What has really changed for you in the first week of the challenge or for some of us, being back "on plan" for a week?

I'm being more serious about exercising. I've been doing C25K but prior to the challenge, putting days off or making excuses, and now i'm planning extra days because i really want to get my time in, and being so close to goal, this is no time for me to be slacking.

anyway, it's grocery shopping and cleaning day for me..i have tons of laundry to do.. plus i need to get out and do my run (w3d2, and i think i'm going to do it x2) so it's time for me to get to work (great day off, huh?)

QOTD - I'm gonna have to agree with others, I've gotten 110% more active than I was before the challenge began. I don't have a big loss to show for it yet but I FEEL way better, and I'm incredibly proud of myself!

I already have some minutes to log for this week's exercise challenge, when ever it shows up

SOrry I don't have more time to respond to others, it's a busy busy day here doing farm hand stuff (orchard work, painting fences mostly). Too bad I have to be outside in the gorgeous weather

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

I am exercising!!!!! Honestly, it's probably been about a YEAR sinc I've done any kind of regular exercise, so this has been great for me. Finally, my competitiveness has come to good use

Alright, off to try to make a sensible breakfast since I'm not sure what the rest of the day may hold as far as food at Jeff's mother's house. I'm sitting on my laptop outside on my deck right now--it's gorgeous morning here in NOVA! I should go in, though, so the birds can come enjoy the fresh food I just put in the feeder. I can see them all flying around from tree to tree but not coming to the feeder because I"m out here with the pups. Time for breakfast for me AND the birds!

Morning all! I just posted my week 1 loss and exercise challenge results. I was especially thrilled to report a loss - it was small, but I really was worried that I might gain after our long weekend away last week...

DH and I went and saw IRONMAN last night - so I used the last of my flexpoints yesterday on that movie popcorn. It's one of the most dangerous things you can put in front of me. No flex points is going to make today a little challenging - just more reason to get out there and earn some activity points! BTW - It was a great movie, we both really enjoyed it!

As for the QOTD: What has really changed for you in the first week of the challenge or for some of us, being back "on plan" for a week?

For me knowing that others are counting on me has been a real motivator! Like most who have posted, I am exercising again and actually looking forward to it!

On demand is great for that! A+ for Comcast.

Morning Ladies!

I did a lovely 4 hours of yard work yesterday and needless to say I was hurting. It was 82 outside and I was working none stop with no water... bad move. I ended up burning all the calories I had eaten for the morning plus some... so I ended up suffering from heat exhaustion.

Today I have more plans to clean and finish the yard, get challenge stuff done and finish grocery shopping.

On a side note.... I know that personals are great and keep individual people motivated, but when doing personals, if we can refrain from multi quoting someones whole post, it will really cut down on wasted space. Not to mention where pictures are involved, its hard on some peoples computers (ie also why people cut off signatures.)

I'll be posting the next beach here in a few hours. Need to get some of this stuff done first.

What has really changed for you in the first week of the challenge or for some of us, being back "on plan" for a week?

Exercise. I've made an extra effort to get up and moving. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I used to be a gym rat now is another story..I've been back and forth on if I want to change gyms and decided not to. My gym membership is paid off and has been for a few years now. I pay monthly dues which change all of the time but has ranged bw $9.99-$21.99 a month. That's a bargain. I decided there is one Bally's in the area that is stressless so I will go to that one. I've added myself to an e-mail group to get myself updated on schedule changes. Water exercise ends on 5/14. I will start going to the gym the following week or the next.

I went to the Farmer's Market today. Very dangerous. I got:
tomatoes, asparagus, strawberries, pear butter, apple butter, applesauce, zucchini bread, sweet potato bread, and grass feed beef steak.

Loved it. I went with my whole foods bag and parked and walked. Not like I had to walk far but it is such a beautiful day. They will be there every Sunday through December. I've already decided I can only go once a month or I will be in trouble. I'm possibly thinking of doing a CSA next year. I'm just worried about things going bad if you pick up stuff every week. I wonder if it would be too much for me and BF. Gotta keep him in mind since he is always over here and loves fruit and veggies.

I always go bonkers too! Then gotta plan meals accordingly so I don't waste any of it. Luckily, my girls love most veggies, so it's not hard to incorporate them.

QOTD - For me last week was basically a continuation of the previous weeks, with the added consciousness that it's not just me. I'm on a team now/again!! The support has a good influence on me and my little choices through the day! Thanks ladies and gent!

I've found my will to try again. I'm not just coasting and maintaining anymore. Exercise is my next mountain to climb. Tomorrow, I start the modified C25K program

Yesterday, I ended up shopping all day for inexpensive window treatments. Today, I must clean this house. Seriously, it looks like someone came in and tossed my house while I was sleeping. Yesterday, I bought some Lady peas at the farmer's market. They are fresh and I'm excited! I love peas! Hubby and the kids don't like them, so looks like I get them all to myself.

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. I'll check in later between the dusting and the vacuuming.

GO BLUE!

Oh yeah, since I am a Comcast customer I am really debating getting digital cable again. I had digital in my living room but only expanded in the bedroom but never watched the extra channels. It might be worth it with DVR and the exercise on demand. I don't know my bill is $105/month now for expanded cable and hi speed internet. I really don't want to pay more than that. I will think about it.

eek--I pay our Comcast bill, and for our digital tv and high speed internet, we pay $86.68/month (including all taxes and fees and stuff).

I really hate Comcast, though. Their customer service has always been horrible. They charged us for installation twice when we moved here, and I am not exaggerating when I say it took 4 months (billing cycles) and at least 7 phone calls from me to get the second installation charge removed, plus they had started charging me late fees for not paying for the installation fee I shouldn't have been charged for in the first place

Unfortunately, though, we don't have n alternative other than satellite/dish, and we really don't want to go that route. We were hoping to go Verizon FIOS, but it's not available in our neighborhood, and from my understanding, you then need to rent a box for EVERY tv in the house. Can't someone just make it easy for us?

Jill--Hmm, I wonder why I pay more???? To be exact I pay $107.85 for hi speed internet and basic expanded on two tvs. I better not be paying more just because I live Arlington.

I am so proud of myself right now. I just went to heat up some leftovers for lunch and even as I put it in the dish it looked like way too much food, but I piled it on anyway (old habits die hard). Well, as it was heating I had a little reality check and packed 1/2 of it for my lunch tomorrow! Now, I don't have to worry about what to pack for lunch and I just stopped myself for over eating this afternoon. If I am hungry later there are lots of healthy snacks here.

Of course it helped knowing that I would have to come here later and tell my team that I ate way too much this afternoon!

I could feel it in my stomach within seconds..and I couldnt keep up because I kept thinking about how much my stomach was hurting, lol. So I would always quit. But this time, I'm thinking of actually sticking with it. It could be my Wed workout.

BTW, what is a cheese crisp? You mentioned your dh making those to eat b4 he left. Is that the same as a grilled cheese sandwich?
Dh could never use his cell phone while overseas. So he bought a phone card, and I would put the mins on it when he ran out. I think during the last deployment..We probably spent over a thousand dollars total just refilling that phone card. I'd put 50 mins on it. But he'd call me every single day. Sometimes more than once too. I totally forgot how much the mins were though. When he got home..I put the phone card in a memory box, lol. And yes..I do get some weird things in emails. I sorta think he loses his mind a little bit when he's been on the ship for too long and hasnt seen the sun in days. I try to keep him sane..but sometimes I just go along with whatever he's saying. I did wear my tankini last summer..and it was very cute on me. Of course I avoided looking in the mirror and only saw my reflection on the pool..lol. But still..it was pretty cute. And I would love to go swimming in the ocean with him. He told me that he's working out a lot..*sigh* He's gonna look all hot again and I'm not.

Oh..a cheese crisp is shredded cheese on a tortilla. You can add stuff to it and make it a quesadilla. But we were low on stuff, lol..so he just used cheese.
