3FC is not a marketing forum or sounding board for personal trainers and other fitness professionals.
Our members have joined with the knowledge and security that this forum is safe from those that unfortunately see us as targets for services and products. They are quick to report anyone who is marketing to them or who are otherwise not onboard with the 3FC goals.
The 3FC community has been around since the late 90s and our central theme has always been peer support
. Our members are constantly offered well-meaning, but often intrusive or out of line advice from family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. They come here to escape that environment. They seek support from people who know exactly what they are going through because they are there or have been there. Our focus is weight loss and maintenance. While we support responsible exercise and balanced nutrition to help us meet our goals, marketing to members is inappropriate.
Why wouldn't we want health and fitness professionals or health coaches to come aboard and share their advice?
The vast majority of those that claim to be fitness professionals are really just internet marketers trained to sell ebooks or other services and are not certified personal trainers or fitness professionals. Many may well be certified or properly trained, but they usually come here to scout out paying customers or to link to their websites.
Of course there are some certified trainers, nurses, doctors, or other health professionals that genuinely want to help out. We appreciate that, but we also hope that you understand how difficult it is from this end. Thousands
of people have signed up to 'help', usually with ulterior motives. Our community is simply too large and too busy for us to interview, check credentials, and personally decide who qualifies to offer advice here. Besides, that's not what we offer here so we should not be expected to take on that task.
At the end of the day, this is a PEER SUPPORT forum. Our moderators may edit or delete posts and remove members at their discretion, according to our forum rules.
