Smile Switching to Atkins

Good Monday Morning!

I am coming back to 3FC to try atkins. I was using Ideal protein but it is super spendy.

I have all the atkins apps and booklets. I just need motivation to get myself started on this.

Hi Sarah! Fellow Atkins follower! When I need motivation I look look at all the recipes online and remind myself that I can lose weight and still enjoy yummy food.

I love LINDA'S LOW CARB MENUS & RECIPES, it indicates if a recipe is suitable for induction.

I can't post links on here yet but if you Google search this phrase "LINDA'S LOW CARB MENUS & RECIPES" it will be the first one listed. I love her site, when I use it. For instance, if I think I might have a food fail cause I NEED something "bad" I can usually find something on her site that will satisfy my craving but keep me on track.

Default Hows the switch going?

Hi Sarah! Just wondering how the switch is going for you. Are you doing the induction or starting at another level?

Hi Sarah,I was thinking of starting Atkins and have been doing a lot of reading about how it works. I also was doing Ideal Protein and lost 80pounds but unfortunately I am inches away from gaining every last bit back... I know I tried hard to keep the weight off but never really felt confident that it would be possible since I can't afford the products for life... It seems like Atkins success can be maintained with real everyday food and I would love to know how you are doing!

Hi there Sarah! I'm also doing induction. It's my first time trying Atkins. My sister has done it for years... and has lost nearly 100 lbs and keeps it off. She's my inspiration. That and the fact that I am just plain old tired of being so overweight! I get on Pinterest at night in bed and scroll through motivational pictures. It really helps keep my head in the game. I want to make some little post its or something for around the house with motivational quotes.

I'm super excited, but I have a very long way to go. At least 150 lbs... but I can't look at it that way. I need to keep it simple or I will get discouraged.

But I just wanted to say hi, and good luck and you have tons of support here!!! If you ever wanna chat, drop me a PM.

Good luck to all of you who recently made the lifestyle switch to Atkins. Hang in there and stay strong on plan! I'm 17 months into my lifestyle change and down a good amount as you can see from my ticker. Just remember to watch your 12-15 of carbs from your veggies per day, 5g from eggs, cheese, etc. Don't go over the 20g. DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Good luck to you all.

You guys are an inspiration for us Atkins followers, don't disappear. Come back!

I'm on induction as well and have been going strong since 7/23/16. Trying to find recent threads to help keep me motivated. I want to stay on induction until I am 15 lbs from goal and have awhile to get there so I'm taking all of this in stride. Every day I try to tweak my menu. Anyone around for moral support and commaraderie?

Welcome KareVT! It's hard to find people wanting to do an updated thread of a daily or weekly nature. I aways pop on here every few days to see if anyone has posted. I find most of my support in several of the Atkins Diet support groups on facebook. Good luck in your journey.

We are still here. Just this particular branch of the forum doesn't get so much traffic, so I tend towards other areas. I've fallen a bit on my face lately with Atkins, but I'm still trying! I've never worked the program the way it is supposed to be done, I just stick at induction until I can't stand it anymore, then I just give up and go to straight calorie counting. I didn't want to do that this time, but I'm scared to go up the rungs. Especially now when I'm not really losing, and had a couple of bumps along the way. But I think I really should. So my plan is to get myself back on track with induction numbers this week, and then start working my way through OWL. I'd at least like to get to the point I can have nuts and beans.
