    Eating out isn't the devil, all the sodium that causes bloat is! But as long as I eat OP and don't give into the carbs it flushes off pretty fast. I had alcohol last night and a largish cookie yesterday afternoon so I am not sure if I bumped out of ketosis. The alcohol was flavored rum because I don't have any unflavored at the moment (must buy asap!!) so it was 2g per shot... ooops, of course I googled it AFTER I made my drink and by then I decided I didn't care so my weight may play about for a couple days.

    Pixikat.. that water from the salt (food) will go away... as Ian (a long time poster) says.. Alcohol does kinda shed weight as long as you don't eat! LOL

  • Welcome Satine & waving hi to everyone

    Had a nice move on the scale this weekend (thanks to Lulu and her idea for a fat fast on the "anything" challenge). I was due for a whoosh and boy did I get one. My body responds really well to fat fasts, something I should probably remember - I do a couple of days of fat fast every few months (last time was in January) and it always knocks several pounds off quickly for me.

    So, I'm feeling much better about this goal today...

    My major commitments :

    - weigh in daily (I already do this)
    - step count over 10,000 at least 1 day a week
    - count calories/carbs at least 2 days a week
    - no dairy other than grass fed butter

    CW : 181.4 (-7.6)
    GW : 179.0 (and this will put me out of OBESE & merely "Overweight" per BMI

  • Wow, all of you have great losses ! Congrats ...I lost another 2.6 lbs last week but then sort of went off plan on Monday night ( cookies, pizza, soda, etc ) ...but I got right up yesterday morning and went right back into induction, hoping to get back into fat burning by end of week.

    I honestly cannot believe that I'm so close to being under 200 ...at 232 when I started it seemed so far away but now it seems like it can happen, lol...my next big goal will be to get into the 180's, which I haven't seen in 10 years...

    Carri - good job for getting right back into it! sometimes that can be so much harder then not indulging at all... I started on Atkins but now I just try to keep around 20 net carbs, keep my macros at about 5% fat 25% protein and 60% fat. I also try to keep my calories between 1300-1600 per day. Try not to judge its success by the last two weeks, prior to that I spent MONTHS bouncing around the 240s sometimes dipping into the 230s. I think this is my body cluing into the fact I stayed on plan for most of the time it was screwing around with me
  • My body does the same thing sometimes, but you and Sue really seem to be moving the scale now...thanks for the encouraging words, I'm trying to get back into things while still having some cravings from what I ate Monday night ...trying to make my meal list as we speak for this week ...sometimes it gets so boring...need to look up more recipes I guess.
