Default Lose 5 lbs Challenge #34 (newme12 won the last 2!)

Congratulations to Carol (newme12) who blasted past 5 pounds to win the last challenge, just like she won challenge 31 before that!

So this is a challenge for anyone! Anyone and everyone is welcome! You do not need to follow this plan. You can start anytime! and weigh in as often or whenever you can.

This challenge is to see who can lose 5 lbs the fastest! If you do YOU WIN! (more ways than 1)

It really helps me focus on the here-and-now and makes the goal of losing a lot of weight much less overwhelming.

The numbers don't easily show it and I can't yet post a graph but after the first 169.8 reading the day-to-day variation got much smaller, +/- 1 lb vs. +/- 3 lbs.

Projecting the trendline forward I should reach 150 lbs in 60 to 100 days.

An easy way to fall off the wagon is to starve yourself to try to lose weight faster. I'm now 32 days in and am losing on average 1 or 2 lbs/week.

To maintain my weight, 2200 calories in = 1500 calories lost to metabolism + 700 calories burned + zero body fat burned.
I'm losing 500 to 1000 calories per day from body fat according to the scale, my 700 probably hasn't changed, my metabolism might have slowed and my calorie intake must be way less than 2200.

If you want to research the science I recommend putting pdf after your search terms; it tends to pull up professional papers which should have more credibility than do every day opinions.

I had a holding pattern for just as long where my weight loss/week was 0.13 lbs (as calculated by my spreadsheet because it was too small to see otherwise) with a big daily variation.
I got disgusted with my lack of progress so I cut way back on my eating so now I'm losing 2.4 lbs/wk with a smaller daily variation, at least for now.

Changing your habits will give you a weight change. I don't have much 'hope' for 'hope'.
Drinking only water may give -7 lb/wk but I don't have that kind of willpower.
