Calee I'm so glad your having such a great time with your friend! Listen...you know that gate you opened for Sue...well I need you to turn the key for me too! :) thanks for the advice with the excercises.

Sue you are on fire! Great job! I know what Calee means about feeling so happy for someone you barely know. I can't even imagine how much better you must feell with 91 lbs gone. That is amazing!

Lulu great job starting your circuit training!

I have 2 goals for this week: 1) to get into the 220s (no surprise there)
2) to be able to fit into my large scrub pants before my next work week . (This means I need to get my walk on)

Big time holding pattern, 14 days now...

But it's hard to judge what's going on, since I'm doing this crazy diet restriction (an elimination diet, the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol - now over halfway there). Basically it's low carb minus dairy, eggs, nuts & some vegetables (nightshade family). Big emphasis on food quality, which for me has meant more veggies - my carb count is more than doubled, but when I've checked I'm still in ketosis. I'm not doing any of the starches that many/most paleo people do, all the extra carbs are either from green veggies or from coconut. I am also following the recommendation and having one serving of berries daily, another carb bump that I was having very very infrequently, and is now daily.

So the flat weight is the only real negative, and it's really hard for me to attribute that completely to this diet, since these holding patterns are pretty usual for me (although this one starts to be long).

On the positive side, I'm feeling good about what I'm eating (not too restricted), physically feeling great which I think might be all the nutrients in the veggies, have retired another couple of pairs of pants, and have done a great job of tracking (one of my Easter Challenge goals).

My major commitments :

- weigh in daily (I already do this)
- keep a daily food log (I've seriously resisted this and it is hard for me to commit to, but frankly I think it's what I will need to do to move through this weight decade that has stalled me for years in the past)

Calee.. I am so thankful for you all! and I, like you, kinda feel like I know you all and that you are my friends. I cheer all the time and feel bad and sad when people get stuck and get "lost" too. We are a group, a group that just got lucky to find each other at the same time.. How lucky is that?!
and you had such a fun day with your friend. That is one of those days to put into a journey to remember how much fun you had :)

LULU.. LOL I love the bacon cheeseburger sans bun for breakfast. What a nice comment from the lady too! Sounds like a Great NSV to me! :) YOU ARE MARVELOUS! :) and your circuit training.... :)

What a great weekend.

Yesterday I was wiped out. Got in a 90 minute walk and a Little shopping and had to come home and veg. No weight gain after eating out two meals. That's a victory.

Sarah, I shed 5 pounds on my Whole75 that I did without eggs, beef, citrus nd nightshades. I did have small amounts of sweet potatoes and some fruit. I was not trying to do it low carb. I logged all my food and exercised 7 hours a week. I regained the 5 over the following 4 months. Vacation in Europe, work conferences, new boyfriend, holidays. Same 5 I'm taking off again. I bet your body will start moving the weight around. Healing happens from within they say in the Paleo community.

Sue, so happy you maintained your loss.

Carol, I bet it would be helpful if you started recording your exercise here. It always helps me be more accountable. Sue is waiting for you and we are ll here to cheer you on. I remember the 220's being an exciting milestone.

Lulu, how is your week looking? Congrats on the circuit!

My in between weeks.. They mess with the mind. up .2 oz and I ate on plan and finally "went" go figure... Just shows tho.. that I should have a nice downdowndown again when it happens! I cannot believe how lose my skin is on my thighs... Just wish the saddlebags would disappear! LOL

Happy Tuesday!! Can't weigh and on the road but made good choices!! I did not have time to work out yesterday due to travel!! I saw my rheumatologist on Monday and he is going to start a new med for me to see if we can taper the prednisone..I'm "too young" so he is worried about the side effects of prednisone!! Sounds funny when I'm turning 49 this year!! I want to see the scale move in the right direction as I have been hanging out in the 170s since Christmas...when I look in the mirror I know who is responsible!! Apparently I like the 170s...I do feel good but I really want to commit to my 160 goal!!

On a side note, two of my co-workers who started their journeys last year have re-gained.... One almost all the weight and he is now re-committed!! And the other who did weight watchers about half the weight and he is actually happy where he is...maybe lost too much at first!! The second guy told me he was tired of being "hungry all the time"... He was doing weight watchers.

Sue I'm glad you got back out of the 30s! Now your just making that "notch" in the 20s before you start going down again. I plan to be there with you soon!

Calee I'm glad you had a great weekend. Those salty foods are the worst. It least we know it's just water from the salt and that it will go away. Ok here's my accountability...still not walking. :( plan to get one in today or will do zumba!

Lulu the good thing is that you are keeping your weight off (unlike your co-workers). If you are ready to recommit now then you will make it happen. Since December you have been maintaining and that is a very important part of weight loss. It is the part I have always failed at in the past!

Sarah keep hanging in there! I think you will see new numbers very soon!

Hi Ladies iM back.. Well something is just not right.. Not sure exactly what it is.. but over 3 months and only lost 10 pounds. going to start eating some carbs again and go back to counting calories for a while. add some fruit in... some carbs. but watch my calories..
I have not been eating anything near and just not losing the weight
2 100 calorie protein drinks for lunch / breakfast
1 steak and veggies for dinner.
snack cheese stick, or slice of hamand cheese..

Other than 1x a month. I never eat Bread,Pasta, Cookies, cakes, nothing. NO sugar at all. and no weight loss. Everyone is so impressed with me but still scale wont move!

maybe my body is used to the low carb and just wont give. NO idea..
but im going to add more food back. and count calories. see what happens.
Of course im not going to bring sugar back in, that's common sense sugar makes me fat.. But going to bring back in fruit, some good breads..
my knees are still in and out.. my backs been feeling a lot better.
but my knees are still bla..
Getting so frustrated looking to turn to pills.. and Im trying not to do that.

I will be still stopping in and out. but that's my plan!!

Ames... I am down to a .5 or a 1 lbs a week until I get to my woosh weeks. It just happens. Sometimes, tho, there are hidden carbs in foods too and sometimes your body just needs a break. Keep trying to find something that works for you and know that there will be weeks of little losses, but there will be losses! :)

:( no I did not walk...or Zumba. I am bad. I am going to the Y to weigh in for Team Lean today so I will walk while I'm there. I promise!
On the plus side I finally saw 229.8 today. Yay! Super happy to be out of the dreadful 30s!

Ames I'm sorry this is not working for you. I hope your new plan does! Please check in with us regularly!

I used to be able to lose 30 lbs in 3 months on this plan. Eating same thing.. or MORE.. and now nothing..
So I guess I have to try something. Since exercise is out right now.
So going to keep count of calories and see what happens..
Thanks girls! im not giving up just adjusting. because I am getting discouraged. Everyone is eating foods.. and im just eating to survive.
and getting no where.
