    Sue it was soooo good! apparently it was made of brie, cream cheese and butter. I need to get the exact recipe cause it would be great with celery or meat.

    I am the same today as yesterday, but I am sore from the gym yesterday so hopefully a new number soon! I am planning to use the break to get back in the habit of working out cause I want to be in great shape, not just a certain weight. I am taking 18 credits and working 20 hours next semester so IDK how well I will keep it up once the semester gets busy

  • Hi Sue - I wanted to comment on walking with your friend. I think both of you will see great improvement in breathing and stamina as it becomes a routine. Personally, I have crappy lungs and I am susceptible to every thing under the sun. What I have noticed is that I can be 30 minutes into my workout and I can actually sing to the songs I am listening to - before I was lucky to just catch my breath!! Now I know I could be talking to whoever I am walking with and not have to worry about keeling over! Ha! Walking is the bomb!!

    A little worried about the scale because I feel my portions have been too big.....weigh in tomorrow....yikes!
  • Lulu... the walking does help my friend... He has COPD and gets bad alergies (So bad he does not leave his chair and mopes) and now he has a cold.. but he is walking and I am so proud of him. I reminded him last night that if he had not been walking he would be feeling even worse than he does now (he never sneezed the whole 2 miles and only blew his nose when we got home and started working on a web page which reminded him that he gets energized walking LOL).. I am glad that I started walking (with my friend and his sister and brother in law 10 months ago and I have not stopped... they did after 6 weeks.. but that is okay.. He has started again!) I feel so much better after walking and even happier spending time and talking to my friend!

    I had a smiley number on the scale.. .it has finally cracked and is on the downdowndown! HOORAY! Maybe 243 is a possibility!?!

    12/4 - 247.6 Very very very Happy!!! all water weight but 1 lb is gone! Dinner out with friends at Bonefish Grill... gotta look at the menu for low carb!
    12/5 247.2 well.. had Bang Bang Shrimp (Bad Sue as it was breaded opps) BACK on the wagon of Induction again today! Wooo Hoooo - train whistle!
    12/6 246.8 Oh YAY Just .2 oz away from all time low for this final journey Yippy!... gonna happen - oh yes it is! Climbing ladder this weekend putting up icicle lights and then putting lights on the palm tress... Good workout and sweating!

  • lulu I am sure it will be fine, even if the weigh in isn't ideal this isn't a sprint it is a marathon. Steady pace with some breaks is best for you, mentally and physically. Just don't start running back to the start line

    Sue I would say it totally is, but this month it really depends on christmas and how you do and how it effects you. Either way I am sure you will get super close if you stay on track every day but christmas!

    Well I am up again, I am trying to tell myself if is because I am sore from resuming working out, but I also know I have had a bite of bread here and a cookie there for the past week so I am probably out of ketosis, I'm sure my insulin isn't wreaking the same havoc had I been eating what used to be normally for me but it likely isn't being helpful. I need to put on blinders and be good 100% for the next week til christmas. Work is the hardest but I only have today and tomorrow then I am off til the 6th so hopefully that will help.

    Pixikat - Thanks - my mind is a terrible place to be some days!!! I can't help but obsess all the time and I am really trying to be "normal" - I am afraid of ending up at the starting line all over again - I've done that since I was a kid!!

  • Uhmm...the scale was being real mean today. There have been lots of office holiday luncheons and parties, but I haven't done too bad. Or so I thought. lol Maybe tomorrow will be better.
  • sue it isn't his idea, it is a recipe from the renaissance or middle ages. Here is the link he emailed me for the recipe http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/cariadoc/sauces.html "Generally the way it's done is a wedge of Brie, equal amount of cream cheese, and a stick of butter. You'll also see it as 1:1:1, which may be what was done for the party, since it was very buttery." I am thinking of bringing it to my families christmas celebration. maybe with some bacon in it lol

    mara it is being mean to me too but this is the first december ever I have managed to stay on track this much and actually lose! We can do it, just ignore the mean ol' scale punishing small indiscretions. keep up the good work!

  • Yesterday was the longest day ever!!! we walked a lot which was great and we didn't get back to our hotel until midnight!! Baby girl loved the concert - her older brother - not so much!! I can't hear out of my left ear right now!! HA! I'm an old goat!!

    Can't weigh - but already worked out and waiting for my gang to come to life for the ride home!!

  • mara it is a cheese dip, and it is delicious! It is from a long long long time ago lol I have a friend who is in one of those groups that dress up from like the Renaissance and do... things, idk lol anyways she took me to their christmas party the other night and they served this. It was served with bread but would be sooo good with some veggies or meat or as the cheese in a faux mac and cheese casserole etc. I am going to try to make it this weekend and if all goes well take it to my families christmas thing. I'm so glad that the concert was fun! I'm sorry about your ear, but I am sure it'll be fine shortly.

    The scale decided to be nice today! hopefully it keeps it up, I have less temptation now that I am off of work til the new year, hopefully I can stick to induction levels til christmas.

    ME it DID finally lost all the weight gained last week HOORAY! Now to work on new territory (well still have .4 to go. but that is nothing to sweat about!)
    1 more party tonight!... but its a buffet and I can eat just the salad and the meat (Ham) and be good.. I am making (bad for Atkins oh well) a shredded Potato caserole... with Cheddare Cheese soup, Onion soup, milk and potatos and topped with crunched Texas toast Croutons (My concoction) and NOPE not gonna touch it! But I am looking at that cheese dip PIXI and I think I am making that for New Years Eve! oh yay! and toast some Low Carb Tortillas (cut into strips) for dipping! oh yum!

  • sue while I am doing much better on my diet this year, this time last year I was in the 2teens low 220s so its kinda hard to say life is better lol I gained from 202 in mid october to 260 in june so right now I am avoiding comparing as it just depresses me

    But I can be happy that I am eating better and staying on track better this year!!! though there was alot more temptation last year so I don't know if it just less temptation means less cheating or if I am actually gaining better willpower lol
  • Yippee for me I'm 1.7.3!!!! It's taken about 90 days to lose 10 pounds and a little over 6 months for 20 pounds!! Thanks so much for the support on this forum and helping me to stay on track!!!

    As I have said before, I was not brave enough in the beginning to write my goal of 152 and actually say I have to lose 73 pounds because losing 10 pounds seemed overwhelming let alone trying to do that 7+ times!!! My realistic goal is 160 but my ultimate goal is 152 and a normal BMI....according to the charts I could be between 113 and 152 so I'm picking 152!!!

    True Confession: Not sure I ever stated this but last Christmas, the highest weight I remember on the scale was 232 and I probably was higher at some point... I started Atkins at 225.

    Sue- We had nosebleed seats - it was just sooooo loud!!! Congrats on the down!!!
