  • Welcome!
  • Hi Melissa! It's a big step you're taking and good for you. The first week can be rough but stick to it, it gets easier after that.
  • Melissa!
I guess you could say I'm an Atkins "veteran" ( I've been on Atkins 9+ years ) but, I enjoy hanging around here and helping when I can My best advice is to read the book ( Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 or prior versions ), do not eat ANYTHING that is not on the acceptable foods list.....and.....drink your water, lots of water!
    You CAN do this!!
    All the best to you!!
  • Hi Melissa, I had my thyroid removed about ten years ago too and I find this way of eating is the best defense against massive weight gain.

As you know b/c u've been thru hyper/hypothyroidism, having my thyroid removed was not an elective procedure, and I just have to cope with the outcome and try to make allowances.

Are you taking your medication? I have to take a pill a day for the rest of my life. But having the right dose helps calibrate my metabolism, even still I am very weight loss resistant.

As if it's not hard enough to lose weight naturally we have this unique challenge. Anyway the struggle continues!!

Enjoy ur pickles and string cheese! people think we are crazy for some of the stuff we pair together and eat LOLOLOL!
  • I just want to welcome you to this forum and thread and I would love to hear of your accomplishments and losses!! You can do it!
  • Hi Melissa!
I'm new to the forum too, and I also struggle to lose weight and to deal with my health issues.

It's great to read you're working to get healthy. Hopefully your interactions here on the board will excite, energize, and motivate you to exceed all weight loss goals.
