Had some personal/marriage pains and then proceeded to gain steadily. I am now about 90 pounds overweight. To write that ...it is just shocking and sad. I would quit smoking and diet and just gain more and more. The journey has been unpleasant. I have used Atkins, WW...and pills. Only to quit and stuff my face for months afterwards ending up heavier than when I started. The truth is that food is like a drug or sex for me. I feel almost robotic and lethargic at the same time. I am now using this WOE as an experiment that will last and last. I have decided that weighing myself...is a trap. I weigh, I see a loss and I pig out. It is a disgusting cycle for me that is all a battle in my head. It makes no logical sense and yet I continue to do it. I have decided that this time I will not allow that to be part of the experiment! haha. So anyway...I am here reading for inspiration, knowing that I have no knowledge other than the expertise that I have in failures. I have no idea if I will write here much. I have belonged to other forums where there was much food porn and it triggered me so I had to leave. I hope you are all well and having success in your journey to health. Most of what you said here applies to me as well. I am 4'9 and have gone as far as 180 lbs when 125 lbs is where I am supposed to be. made lifetime on ww, and gained it all back. i did Ideal Protein and lost wonderfully but due to vacation didn't phase off properly and gained it all back. Now i find that diet to restrictive and started Atkins. For the first time in over 20 years, I am allowing myself to eat whole fat foods. I need to tweak my whole approach again because I am not losing weight. Not gaining either but I need to lose around 30 pounds this time around.
Good luck and know you are not alone. There are plenty of food addicts that can relate. With Atkins it is easier to withstand temptations and that in itself is worth eating this way.
