Welcome, Icats! I didn't start today but I did start recently (I just finished my 2 week induction and am feeling great!).

You'll find a lot of support on this board and a great group of people along the journey with you.

Best of luck and nice to meet you!

Thanks all! It's day two and I'm going strong. I've done Atkins before, but it was back in 2004. I had great success, but over the years I let the carbs creep back up there. I've had my bf take my scale from the house so I won't drive myself nuts by checking every day over the next two weeks. Really hoping for a 10 lb loss over the induction and then I'll have 23 lbs more to go.

Puzzled over why you would be scared

I guess because I don't know anything about it. I will have to research it and read up on it. I saw her eating meat every day and that kinda scared me.

If your co-worker recently started Atkins, she should be eating plenty of green veggies & salads. Atkins is moderate protein, meaning meat is ok but....in moderation.
I agree you should do your research. If I may make a suggestion, start with reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 or prior versions).

Started Atkins just last Monday. It's a Dual effort...as my husband and I are on this together. I am 56 years young and love being active. Haven't even completed the first 14 days but not having any problems with it....other than the fact the first few days I did miss my evening glass of red wine...lol. Atkins is the only thing that had worked for my husband about 10 years ago...but probably because of me he slipped back into his old eating habits. He has lost 15 pounds to my 5 pounds in just the first 9 days! This weekend will be our first "challenge" since we have a wedding to attend...but by supporting each other...I know we CAN DO THIS!!!
