Back to Atkins...
It's the only thing that works for me. It's the only thing that I can do without binging on pizza or McDonald's every day. So what if I can't get the enchiladas from my favorite Mexican place or a 10 piece nugget from McD's, losing weight is WAY more important. I didn't come this far to backpedal!!
Going low carb grocery shopping in the morning, everything else is going in the trash. Green beans and chicken in the crock pot right now. I'm officially back!

WELCOME Linsy. I love the shopping part of the diet. I hit that store perimeter hard, love to hit fresh veggies, especially. I like a nice steak when I'm tightening my cabs down, it's like a beefy treat for me.
I keep some "staples" list around that I always try to keep on hand for "quick" meals. I also plan the menu for the week to reduce waste (my best way to cut food costs).
Anyway, you didn't ask advice, see you on the flip side....

Kel, I actually did Atkins for over a year and lost all of my weight on it so I know what works for me. Unfortunately carb cravings got the better of me!
Today was an OKAY day--I'm already having carb withdrawal.
Breakfast was chicken and green beans + a cheese stick.
Lunch was 2 McDoubles no bun, side salad with ranch dressing.
Dinner was chicken and mushrooms with green beans.
I blew it with my snack which was an apple and peanut butter. I have a carb withdrawal headache so I ate it to make me feel better. A stupid decision but maybe I'll do better tomorrow.
Glad to see you guys again! Hi Islandchick!

Linsy: You cheated with an apple? Sorry, but that could have been much worse. I ate 4 pieces of pizza one night this week. I would consider an apple and pb to be a "decent" choice for a cheat. Maybe not on plan, but there's worse decisions you could make.
The only way to fail is to quit, so hope it's going well for you.

well it sounds like alot of us are all like peas in a pod. cant lose weight on any other diet. im really beganing to think it has a lot to do with candida. stupid yeast overgrowth that feeds on sugar and carbs. makes you crave them! i have alot of the systoms so im restarting tomorrow.
good luck everyone

This is one thing I'm working on too. I don't have yeast infections, but I have symptoms of systemic candida. I started a candida cleanse I bought at the health food store to hopefully help with those cravings and the little rash on my upper arms that looks like candida.
I also believe the reason this diet helps is because of insulin resistance. Some of us just can't have too many carbs

v73 i dont get Y infections either. but i also have the rash on the upper arms and carb and sugar cravings. i have noticed with the rash it gets worse the longer im off a low carb diet. i believe i have had this from my early 20's and now im 33. so ive been fighting for years. and i have only figured out the problem in the last couple of yrs. but it totally explains why other diets wont work for me. i have to keep the yeast under control. or the cravings are bad.

I do know, medically, people with elevated blood sugars have more frequent and more difficult to treat yeast infections, and also, elevated blood sugars make you HUNGRY. So I can see the logic, but I'm not sure the yeast makes you hungry. Definitely eating lower carb would help eliminate the little stinkers though.
Have you had your blood sugar checked?
